You can run your own auctions on some of the MTG FB groups to good effect. I've done very well for myself these past couple of years selling MTG art on FB. Matter of fact, I met up locally last night with a collector from Japan visiting my neck of the woods, here in the UK, who spent GBP 3,000 cash on several pieces I'd previously agreed to sell privately (about $3,768). Funny thing was, when I first started putting-up MTG art on FB at fixed asking prices, not everything sold. As I don't like to leave things listed for sale indefinitely I pulled them after a short time. Fast forward about a year later, I re-listed the artworks as reserve auctions. All the MTG art sold at big increases in the auction format over my original fixed price listings!

Going forward, I think the series has become so tarnished for many of us that it will be difficult to salvage in future seasons (if it doesn't get cancelled).

They changed the time-slot for last night's season finale and I missed the first five minutes. I then nodded-off quite a bit during the screening (seriously!), so will have to re-watch it again this week. From what I saw, it seemed a slight improvement over previous episodes but I'm still not sold on Jodie Whittaker and Team Tardis Motley Crew.

I'm not a huge fan of Tom's later stories under producer Graham Williams. 'City of Death' was pretty good and I must confess to actually being quite fond of 'State of Decay'. I try to avoid going the route of buying stuff over and over again to keep pace with technological improvements . . . except for the exceptional material. Talking of which (in addition to 'Outer Limits', which carries my STRONGEST recommendation), the original 'Quatermass and the Pit' TV serial has recently been re-released on Blu-ray. It's a pot-boiler of a story that really benefits from the high-def treatment. Check it out!

I liked most of Matt's episodes, apart from the Chibnall-scripted stuff (didn't like his writing back then). Lots of excellent episodes to choose from but I thought the two-parter, 'The Time of Angels' and 'Flesh of Stone' was especially good. Matt would probably rate as my favourite Doctor in the re-boot, with Capaldi second. Whittaker's at the bottom (of the barrel?).

Most of the time I try not to post anything until it's physically here with me (you can be tempting fate by acting prematurely). Sometimes I'll post art that's on its way to me fully-tracked via trusted mailing outfits I have 100% faith in.

The original artwork painting for the UK quad of THE THING (1982) by Les Edwards and Jim Burns recently sold in auction for GBP 8,610 (plus juice). It measured 42" x 43". Artwork and printed poster:

Not forgetting the Gerry Anderson stuff. They had better actors than this current Doc Who fiasco . . .

Tom baker was always a joy to watch . . . as was Mary Tamm (and, heck, she doesn't even need to have a speaking part!) . . . Mary looked and sounded sophisticated . . . unlike this present Time-person, imho.

'Dawn at Socorro' is not a bad movie. I'm a huge fan of Reynold Brown's movie artwork and recently bought the painting without actually having seen the 1954 movie it was promoting (now corrected). I often buy movie poster paintings based purely on the images and afterwards check out the films they represent (if not seen before). Currently, I'm at 54 movie artworks. Yeah, it's Reynold Brown's original 1954 movie poster painting (physical art, not the printed poster). I collect OA.

They're released in both standard DVD and Blu-ray. Season two is choc-full of extras, including the unscreened pilots for 'Please Stand By' and 'The Unknown'. Commentaries on most episodes and the picture-quality is a big improvement on the earlier DVD sets. Only available on Region A (USA) but I bought a multi-regional Blu-ray player a while back in preparation for OL seasons 1 and 2 being released in that format..

No collecting goals for 2019; I'll just wait and see what turns up . . . and if it's for me. I'm mostly out of comic-book art nowadays, preferring Movie Poster original paintings. I started a Movie Poster OA Facebook group about a year ago which is now at over 1,000 members and we recently had a get-together in Hamburg, Germany, where Italian artist Enzo Sciotti put in a guest appearance. Next year a Rome venue is on the cards. Paintings frequently come up for sale on my FB group, so I've effectively created a source outside of Dealer and Auction offerings . . . As we near the end of 2018, I did manage to acquire four nice 1950s Reynold Brown Movie paintings in recent months. He's my all-time-favourite Movie Poster artist, so I'm ending the year on a roll.

You should ask for a refund and return the 'artwork' to the seller. No doubt in my mind whatsoever that it's a fake.

I was FB friends with Arlen for a short while but found him to be too self-opinionated and volatile . . . if you happen to disagree with him (so had to un-friend due to one or two heated clashes over the most trivial of matters). Anyways, we're now back to discussing Lichtenstein. Did he ever go away? I must admit (as intimated earlier in this thread), I'm coming round to showing more of an interest in his work. In all honesty, I don't really class myself as a fan - but he certainly left his mark on the art world, so is difficult to ignore . . . but perhaps worthy of further study.
