Another all-time great horror artist from the Bronze Age period, working unconstrained outside the Code with self-published material, in the underground comix field and for Warren magazines, is Richard Corben.  Like Wrightson, one of the most talented artists and storytellers ever to work in comics.

Corben has just gotten better an better. Loved rat god ...

  2. Agreed Marvel publishing policy has for many years respected neither long term fans nor the source of creativity that maintains their essence.

there has been one exception: Jason Aarons recent work on Dr Strange. But of course he was swiftly removed from the title by corporate management suits. Gold medal arsseholes ....

I got back my 182, came in at a 9.4. Fantastic book. I'm very happy with the grade. Like the other books it was bought at a news stand/ Stationary store when I was a kid. I was bagging books before they made comic book bags, I used the larger penny saver bags that I got from a friend who delivered the PSer.

I think that the focus should be on who has been influential in the past 2-3 decades.. Not trying to win argument points here, just trying to make this topic relevant to the lack of artistic INFLUENTIAL talent in modern comic book art..

To demonstrate: C. C. Beck, Kirby, Frazetta, Kurtzman, Eisner, Adams (both Neal & Art), Miller... These are the names of some comic book greats who have shaped and made comic books look and read the way they do today. I fail to see ONE artist or storyteller who has had equal influential strength on others in modern history.

There are plenty of good artists who's art is respected in the medium. Not one of them is revolutionary

    Rob Liefeld ... ?

I believe if the potential for conserved label was there , would've already happened

but it should clear 200 large , easy

The work on this book is minor.

if not miniscule. Ill go out on e limb an predict this book'l fetch Big moolah ...

and for the record: this book being part of the J. Berk Pantheon wont hurt it at all. It Will rather move final hammer even more north...

  6. Never regret the past. Looking forward for me the Berk slight 6.5 tec27 looks like an attractive POS. The current exponential growth on universal grade GA grails has created a huge divide beween blue and purple lables. This slight book could later turn up on a blue conserved holder and thus sell at a significantly higher price point. If one just had the moolah.

    if, if, if ...

I know few people that would pay price guide  2.0 for a restored 2.0 copy. My point is you cant pay guide prices for a 2.0 blue Action 1 or Tec 27 or Action 7 Few others. So if a Restored Action 1 CGC 2.0 EX was for sale at Heritage auction it would bring over the price guides 2.0 unrestored price IMO. So there is value in a Tec 27/Action 1 Restored and prices will go up fast on theses 2 books.

There was a 4.5 ext tec27 last year that went for around 180k.

I wonder how far north it has climbed? If at all?

i get what you guys are saying i dont think this is a case of 'get while the getting is good'.  resto books are very niche with appeal to a very small pool within the already small pool of high end GA books. and i maintain that the spread between blue and purple is widening and this will only become more dramatic as years go on.  if its for a personal collection i love it and can appreciate it.  if you are a speculator looking to go buy one of those resto tec 31s up on ebay thinking you will flip it in 5 years for double what you pay you will get burned.

Why?   Just like CGC, they list it right on the label.

    On this book:

"Small amount of color touch on cover, pieces added to cover & interior, cover & centerfold reinforced, spine splits sealed, cover cleaned".

    Holy sheiit

id much rather have this book than the universal 5.5 supe 1. There priced the same!
