  1. If you follow the Turtle market, nearly every series in between Mirage vol. 1 and IDW are tough to find. Many of them sell very well for way over cover. This Dream Wave series is not very easy to find and still dirt cheap. If the trend continues, they should appreciate nicely. Nice find.
  2. It's a comic news magazine. Comic Scene #2, in my humble opinion, is one of the most under valued books ever. I realize it sells for decent money but it may someday be equal to or above ASM 300. It's a tough book to find. It pre-dates ASM 298. It has a huge spoiler article about Eddie Brock being Venom and what happens in the whole story arc. It features images of Brock and Venom and also the first published image of the iconic 300 cover drawing. I found one before the market realized what it is and it blew my mind. I'll post some photos later of the insides for those who haven't seen it. It's a must own for any serious Spider-man collector.
  3. Found these in the same $1 box a few weeks back at the Sacramento Comic Con. The Comics Scene issue is the earliest known published image of Harley Quinn.
  4. Great set of books! I searched ebay for over a year until I found that Batgirl 35 newsstand. That is a very tough book!
  5. 16 is Angstrom Levy's first appearance. That's probably the most undervalued book in the whole series. He's a great villian.
  6. New pick up this week. Joe Kubert's 1st Tarzan issue, re-painted by mexican artist Francisco Betancourt.
  7. Phantom Stranger 14 published in Mexico by Editorial Novaro. Great Neal Adams cover. When you find these in Mexico, they are usually brittle and flattened because of the humidity. I believe this one came from a Mexican grocer in California. Glossy, plump and firm. Not like any Novaro I have ever held. The elements can play a huge role in the quality of paper. Vintage mexican books above a 7.0 simply do not exist.
  8. I have quite a few multiple printings from this story arc. I always wondered if there were any that were truly scarce. Anyone have any advice as to which issues and printings are good to look out for?
  9. Marvel books with standard trade dress seem to have a 1000 issue minimum to order an exclusive. If it's a set of 3, there are lower print runs for the 3rd variant. That usually means 3000 standard, 1500 sketch and 500 virgin. I'm guessing this book was at least 1000 but probably more.
  10. It seems that certain Image NS are more difficult for some folks than others. I wonder if there was a higher regional distribution for some books. I have every early Image newsstand except Wildcats 1 and 2 for some reason, but I have seen others with multiple copies. Here is one with a great cover variation I have not seen posted yet. It was one of the harder Image books to find for me personally and i'm a very active digger. This is scarce on the bay as well. Unknown whether because of rarity or lack of interest.
  11. Here's a book I received this week from Australia. There's no American Wrightson books left for me to collect ? so I am starting on the vintage foreign editions. Enjoy.
  12. Not to turn this into an exclusive Image newsstand thread but; I have seen The Maxx newsstands up until 5 or 6. Does anyone have any idea how far they went? I would love to find a #35 NS copy. I have only ever found 1 direct copy in the wild.
  13. I believe the other issue was a Justice League 69 4th print. They released that issue in the 20 pack and a couple of the 2 packs, so it is more common.
  14. This book so rarely comes to market. I have seen 2-3 copies in the last 4 years. Coincidently, there happens to be 3 on eBay right now. I'm interested to see what those end at before selling or trading them.
  15. That issue is one of the rarest DC Universe variants. It came in a two pack instead of the regular 20 pack.
  16. Here's some more books you just can't find in the wild...... that I found in the wild. ? I have been searching for this Action Comics 686 for years. It's a DC Universe variant, second printing. One of the rarest DC Universe variants. This weekend I found two in the same dollar box. The comic gods have shined upon me. Also, some final issues of these Acclaim and Valiant series.
  17. Yes, I believe I saw TT 11 but I don't have proof. Here is a new article by Comichron about DC newstands ending. They list TT 11 as the last issue, but do not have a photo. It's a good read anyway for those interested. Enjoy. http://blog.comichron.com/2018/02/end-of-era-last-dc-newsstand-issues.html?m=1
  18. The Flash had a new villian (forgot his name) and the first "Negative Flash." They don't seem to be doing much in the market but that was all in the last 3 newsstand editions of The Flash.
  19. I was doing the same thing. The newsstands ended at TT11. There is no 12 unfortunately. Our newsstand honey holes have all dried up ?
  20. This has been a really great thread so far. One of my favorites. I wish we could delete the last couple pages and move on. Here's a cool book. I have never found a "no date" Wonder Woman 1 in the wild. This is the first time I have seen it in it's package. Before this, I didn't know where these came from. Does anyone else have books to post?
