  1. I usually delete pics a little while after I sell a book and I know the buyer is happy, otherwise my directories get too cluttered. I'd also add that the ASM 300 9.4 i once owned (scans long gone) was terribly overgraded. I couldn't believe it was higher than an 8.0, honestly, and stupidly sold it I was so disappointed (for a whopping $99.99). It might have had double digit spine ticks. Are they soft on that book in 9.4?
  2. I think they messed up by not getting a guy with enough sex appeal, like DC messed up when they cast Constantine. Women watch these shows too. En masse. See Sam and Dean.
  3. I wish they would give these shows a chance. It is a bit slow and I don't think he. Was great casting, but they didn't do much to promote it. Some connection to the rest of the mcu would be good.
  4. I can't keep track I thought you were talking about asm 55
  5. Every copy I saw left at Midtown was damaged, but maybe they keep better copies in a box.
  6. Hey, unbeatable squirrel girl #1 is better than a dollar box book! I'd pay $2.
  7. Based on your postings you have some great dollar boxes around you. He might not. I've bought the 5 Below 5 for $5 packs for fun. Not much in those either. But next time I'm in a 5 Below I'll probably do it again. I agree, he took his experiment a bit far in terms of quantity.
  8. Value is really subjective, but you can see his pages from other titles where there isn't much happening are more like $50-$100, the one you have could be worth framing and displaying. he's not name brand enough that the boring page will still be $400.
  9. sure, there's some action and you see the name brand characters a lot. it arguably has a bit more going for it than the page from issue #5 that recently sold for $355, but i guess that is subjective.
  10. Why you gotta pee on his corn flakes? I'm not so sure the Spiderman books and a couple of others are such obvious dollar box fodder. Depends on the store I suppose.
  11. I cannot believe that out of the zillions of marvel magazines I bought over the years I did not get a Special #16. Happily I have a few of the Dark Horse books that are up a bit (Boba Fett Agent Destruction 1, Jango Fett 1, Phantom Menace 3 (Maul Photo cover). I used to have a stack of 39-41. I don't know what happened to them. I think i might have been putting them in my grab bags in 2013 along with my Special Edition 15s. insufficiently_thoughtful_person.
  12. I guess it is a premium over other reprint issues around there, but not much. Starlin cover definitely helps. People forget these books have new covers sometimes.
  13. the late 70s DC horror didn't even have good covers except for a couple of adams covers on some giant size House of books, and those weren't really late ...I guess some of the kaluta covers are interesting, but the other titles, mehhhh
  14. When I read the title at first I was wondering if you thought old fart collectors should go out and self publish comics. Once upon a time I thought about it, but ultimately decided i don't really have a story to tell. Not right now at least. Not a good one. Having no story worked ok for Image books in the 90s, but nowadays you need a story. You can get away with mediocre art (which I can supply!) if the story is good.
  15. Yeah, my wife decided that I was doing a poor job of supervising remote learning, so now we have someone helping for 10 hours a week. It adds up to what private school (catholic) would be costing us. So, I am now spending $300-350 more a month more on childcare than when he was in school with his afterschool program ($450 a month) and the occasional $15 an hour person who picked him up and watched him after that when I was sill at work. My pandemic cash bonus is quickly getting evaporated. I'm still saving on commuting and buying lunch at work though, so that's good.
  16. I very much appreciate the effort to be different. The negative space, etc. Unfortunately, I suspect this stuff was lost on the average 10 year old reader. (And the insides of these books usually did not come close to being as interesting as the covers ... whereas some of the DC horror was pretty good on the inside too).
  17. So is he telling us that comics we're buying have been out in trucks for decades during frigid colorado winters and hot summers?
  18. If he lowered his prices he would not have to keep in trailers. somehow joe koch got his avalanche of wonder under control.
  19. well, you are being technical...chuck was burgled! (maybe) ... although if it was an inside job, maybe something else
