If someone thinks the book was underrated here, what is the issue? Cracking it out of a slab is a little hinkier.

This was 6 or 7 years ago. At the time I was not following BA marvel horror/monster book reprints. I had no idea high grade raw copies of even 20 and 25 centers were getting real money. I had always viewed them as bargain box fodder, but this guy had some really sharp ones, and a bunch of picture frames too, so I deviated from my normal buying and scooped them up.. So, for me, $3 seemed like a bit of a risk. I actually sold them here for $15-$30 a pop. There were some really nice red circle/morrow ones too. I also had no idea those were worth anything.

Soon to be another 9.8 when I send mine in...

SOLD: 3 raw 9.4 or better copies of Thor 339 (direct edition) available from my private hoard. $13 each (shipped in the USA). If you buy more than one, additional copies are $9. Trust me on these, they look fine, so I'm not putting up a pics.

Are there in and out privileges? Like if I want to go outside and get lunch with my boys and come back?

Does anyone know if/how much Steranko charges to sign non-cgc books? Or if I buy one of his hard covers will he sign 3 million books?

Definitely keeps my eyes open in the cheap-o boxes. I now looks for newsstands for the right periods and buy books I would not have. Lots of books I find never would have occurred to me. In terms of more expensive books where I am bidding against the world I tend to not be following the trends here because I am looking for a sleeper (that happens to be a book I like) I am going to have to think if this board ever "revealed" a book to me that I then went out and spent real money on.

Except there are copies getting bid up where the sellers made a disclosure. One was around $70 and the seller was adding comments like "people know this is a reprint, right? Why is this getting bid up???" Actually kind of funny.

The tv show's problem is a lack of supporting characters/ensemble. And a lame initial plot.

Now it all makes sense. Why would the same guys who only have cheap boxes be the same guys whose ebay auctions get jacked up?

Isn't J&S comics in Neptune nj and JC in Plainfield? But now I can't remember who always has a big nycc set up. 2 middle aged guys, one dude is pretty intense and other dude is a pharmacist or podiatrist or something? In any event you'd probably be more likely to have a high grade copy of a Godzilla book.

If you get there early. Definitely. I got an early crack at a guy at nycc years ago who had books like these and pulled a ton of gorgeous BA horror. Came back the next day when I had done some research and realized many were $20-30 copies in these grades and sadly the 9.2-9.6 books I had not bought were now VFs.

I hate unbagged and boarded $3 books. And it's not because there isn't good stuff in there. There often is. But by the time I get there I feel like every book is a grade or two lower after all that abuse.

The facsimiles that don't have a different price, etc. Are the fraud. My guess (I hope) is that 99% of thebidders do not compete the transaction and realize what's up.

OK, I have seen facsimile editions with a different cover price. I thought they just did a few of these fake copies 15 years ago for some SA books, they're doing more? What a great way to help people defraud other people. And now you basically can't look at a group photo of a comic lot and have any confidence those are the real books.

I dunno. Maybe I am misremembering. I have not been sleeping much lately. I have a second 5 hours of work from 11:30 - 4:30 a.m. on many days.
