  1. Coin flip. Use the unused one later as a sketch variant cover once the title gains momentum.
  2. Ok, are you doing it too? Buffalo wings are keto friendly, but how do you eat them without washing them down with beer? (Michelobe ultra and there is a low carb carona are keto friendly, but I have a tough time drinking beers that light unless it is 90+ degrees out). How does this relate to comic collecting? Well, at 330 I am three long boxes wide at a show. At 230 I am only 2. And I am a little less stinky. But I have more endurance, so I can carry more books and don't get exhausted as quickly. At neither weight can I crawl on the floor for cheap books. I wrecked my knee almost 30 years ago, so I just can't.
  3. Video game comics have a weird niche. The Ratchet and Clank mini does well (although this sale is above the norm): https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ratchet-and-Clank-Comic-Books-1-2-3-4-5-6-1-6-DC-Wildstorm-NEW-RARE/163261694366?hash=item260327c19e:g:qDAAAOSw6yJa0VMJ The Uncharted mini does ok (I have seen it go much higher): https://www.ebay.com/itm/Uncharted-1-6-2012-DC-VF-NM-to-NM-Complete-Set/163181763361?hash=item25fe641b21:g:JmIAAOSw6fpbYz-Q Oddly, the TPBs of the above go for good money too.
  4. It might be comings back, who knows? I used to have a bunch of #2s, sold them for $15-$20 pretty consistently, but never got around to listing my last 3 or so and they were selling for like $5, and now I seen some recent sales in the teens. that's promising.
  5. The boxes and bags and boards alone might almost be worth $350 for 2000 books. Local shops probably offered him a dime a book, so he bumped it up to 17.5 cents book.
  6. I don't know why my camera pics are so bad. I probably have to adjust something on there.
  7. I purchased these from Eggs Ackley a while back along with some other stuff. I am not all that familiar with them, but they provide an interesting glimpse into the vibrant underground comiix scene of the late 70s/early 80s. They contain a lot of interviews and art and short cartoons from luminaries of the underground comic scene like Crumb, gary Whitney,Art Spiegelman, Gilbert Shelton, Denis Kitchen, phil yeh, trina robbins, larry todd, early steve leialoha, skip williamson, rob vojtko, michael gilbert, The ads for underground back issues and the pricing are interesting. There is a website: https://artie.com/cascade.htm. Print runs were in the area of 400 - 1650 or so. Pictured in here is #14, but I am not selling that one. Issues 2, 11/12 (a double issue with an art spiegelman cover and interview where he discusses Maus, which had not been published in RAW yet; a little wavey, but not mold or anything), 13, 15 (small rip), 16, 18,19, 22, and 23 (last issue, has some staining). Except noted the issues are mid-grade, some have slight staple oxidation. 9 issues in all. A couple of recent sales are in the $8-$10 range. Listed prices are in the $8-$20 range. I would like $45, which includes shipping in the USA. Canada will be a few bucks more, I need to figure out the difference between U.S. and Canadian flat rate envelopes. Paypal is preferred. I reserve the right to reject a purchase request if you have trolled me in the past. Thanks. I am uploading photos off my phone, so my apologies for the cruddy pictures.
  8. FF 48 is a very common book, I have owned 6 or 7 copies over the years and only one ST 110, but not in 9.6 or 9.8 I suppose.
  9. You would think that a local comic seller around here in NYC that uses terms like "warehouse" and "avalanche of wonder" to describe their comic selection would be open today when many have off from work and can actually drive to their remote location. You would have thunk wrong! So much for killing a few hours with the kids.
  10. I have 2 six packs of old dirty b##stard I have not been able to drink since I went no carb. It was my "what a rough week" go to end of the day beer. I guess it will still be goid when/if I hit my goal.
  11. I suppose I don't know what you're paying. Obviously low enough that you think there is a profit.
  12. I had to do something. I am the age where this can catch up with you fast. It's not like being an overweight 28 year old. Lost 20 so far. 100-130 to go. No bread, pasta, starch, sweets, etc. or beer for a month so far. Vodka is ok on this diet. I miss having a beer, not that I drank that much before.
  13. So? They are selling for 150% of guide. Or were when I posted. Guide is not relevant. Guide is useful for double checking dates, artists, first apps, etc. I enjoy reading The fictionalized reports. The prices are meaningless. If they were I would have about $20k worth of Donald Duck comics. I have not bought a guide since the Hughes catwoman cover.
  14. My brother bought low grade copies of asm 2-13 for like $25 or $30. But heck, that's like $150 in today's dollars, a lot of loot for a 10 or 11.
  15. Maybe, or maybe they looked them over? Katz comics sets up a massive dollar selection at nycc ( and maybe other shows), which he cuts to 50 cents at some point. I don't think I got much in the way of $10+ books in there, but I did buy like 150 books. I got like 25 or 30 issues of Bone from CB in pristine shape, nearly All the Concrete DHPs a lot of low print run 98-2000 marvels, etc. Stuff I like to buy, but aren't double digits. Yet. With that said, with that many longies there are bound to be a couple of mistakes per box.
  16. It depends. I think a lot of that was relatively expensive 40 years ago. I do remember going to a show in 77 or 78 with $10 and coming home with a low grade hulk 3, a low grade DD 5, a beater little abner, some GA western and a couple of other odds and ends and my brother razzing me because I got ripped off.
  17. An ok copy recently sold for $80. I would have gone for that. The two slabs on eBay are priced like silver age keys. So this thread sucked me into the rabbit hole of looking at marvel westerns on eBay for 45 minutes. Decent looking 10 cent marvels for $20-30 are appealing for issues earlier than this, except they aren't the same character as we see in modern marvel continuity. I guess kid Colts are also an option, except two gun is a bit more involved in modern marvel. Other than maybe patsy Walker it isn't easy to find 10 cent marvels at that price point where the character exists in modern continuity. This makes these westerns different than so many "dead" western titles, the characters are still around. I wish marvel did more back-up stories to keep some of their obscure characters relevant.
