  1. Becoming a comics dealer isn't retiring. It is a different job. Maybe a more fun one. Do you press your own books?
  2. Weird as a search for spiderman 129 would have had it turn up even though it was a messed up title
  3. Its almost line bws was spending so much time on the cover he missed the deadline and they had to use it for 24 instead.
  4. It is too bad. 23 has such a generic mehhhh cover and doesn't even show her. Its like they had a pile of generic covers to use.
  5. Anything selling for $200 now should be $1000 by August
  6. That's great and all. Not easy to find. I've bumped into those sorts of books like twice. Anywayz, ignore the "new" post 1980 stuff, more treasure for the rest of us.
  7. I think you are misunderstanding my sarcasm as criticism, rather than envy.
  8. I guess all I stress out about are medical expenses, so i see less burden there as being yuuuuge (do you have socialized nursing care for old people?), I guess you worry about a tax bite on retirement income. Of course, I live in New York, we have the high taxes without the services! best of both worlds! although i wouldn't be here for retirement. i have no plans to shovel snow at 60.
  9. gotta work on this. dr. dank thinks he needs $3.24 million to retire in socialist nirvana up north, maybe I need to reevaluate my needs? $5 million in the cruel USA?
  10. well, for me it is hitting my boxes to see if I have any...
  11. I appreciate your attention to even micro trends out there. Sometimes it may only be a sale or two and I am not convinced, but you do catch a lot of books that get into the double digits on their upward trend
  12. Mile High has actually been good too. It can be a challenge finding something not 4X FMV there, but I have been happy with the grades.
  13. My recent purchases the 3.0 looked like a 3.0, but the 5.0 really could be a 7.0-9.0 in a slab. I am not sending it in, but it looks the same as a 7.0, which frankly looks better than the 8.5 I have....
  14. it used to cost $5. now $8. i feel like it might have been $3 earlier, but i might be wrong.
  15. I have seen plenty. Don't ask me to submit links.
  16. If you pee on it and the book turns yellow then don't submit. The 9.2 are from when folks didn't do prescreens or newbies nowadays who don't know any better
  17. Pee screen. Why would anyone spend the money to get that back in 9.2?
  18. I am a 50 yearish old lawyer and my wife is a 50ish professor both working in the largest city in the country. It is hard to not pass the limit and not be homeless here.
