  1. That is has every character is cool. What I have read does not say anyone new.
  2. it is 15 years old, but it was from one old publishing company, did the next company (companies?) get the rights to the new ones?
  3. oh lordy, just randomly looking up $3-$7 books on ebay and he has them all at $70-140. even 50% off, who is buying anything other than some of his cheap low grade and filler books? seriously, a few years ago I probably put in 3 or 4 orders with him orders big enough for free shipping, carefully selecting stuff that turned out to be deals with the 50% off codeword. I am not sure that is possible right now. Ironically, I was looking at a CGC book pon his site and it is actually priced right for the market, but the codeword doesn't apply to cgc books
  4. If you spend 4 hours looking on his site you will find 2 or 3 decent deals after the codeword sale. correction, he just jacked up all the prices another 25-35% since i last looked there a few months ago, so forget that
  5. 1st squirrel girl has been expensive for a while. her comic series got a lot of good reviews (fanboys being who they are probably didn't buy it), in particular, outside of comicdom, the series lasted 50 issues, and they like to use her on the disney cartoons, and the TPBs sold well. Don't knock the squirrel.
  6. yeah, DC produced a lot of garbage up until the late 60s
  7. I don't think she would have divorced me. We just got married. Heck, she might have been pregnant, which might have been another reason not to want to deal with 25 or so long boxes.
  8. Book 10: Spawn #1. Anticipated 9.2-9.4. Another one I am curious to see if higher happens and one that I may sell if it hits this grade or better as I do have a regular Spawn #1 and for me, the sale could go towards some much better stuff! --- Is this a newsstand? Slabbing a regular 9.2 may not make economic sense.
  9. $3000 gets you a 4.5-5.0 Hulk 181. Hulk 181 is a pretty common book. There are about as many copies of Hulk 179 and Hulk 183 on ebay as New Mutants 97. Is Wolverine bigger than Deadpool. Probably. Maybe. I dunno.
  10. yeah, but folks here say something is now a $100 book based on a single sale
  11. sure, but now you may be paying fees on $4000 vs. $3000 and have more explaining to do to the tax man (the $1000 kick back deduction might now work?)
  12. about 16 years ago on these boards metropolis offered 6000 CA books (according to them) for $600 (I think). Basically, as they had standards, it was the sort of stuff they wouldn't bother selling, so presumably stuff worth under $6-10 a pop then (which was 99.9% of CA books). i had visions of it being pretty decent quality CA, but who knows, they didn't give many details. I was living in a 1 bedroom apartment and my storage room was already packed and I figured it was just too much to process and I passed. It was kind of a no brainer, of course, I just didn't want to pay another $200 a month on another storage room for it. I wound up moving to a big house a couple of years later and it would not have been an issue. Did anyone here buy it? I wonder what 2021 treasures were in there. Back then you could fish copies of Omega Men 3 and Moon Knight 1 out of dollar boxes, so who knows?
  13. were the ones you sold picked over or were you offering the $30 at the start too? end of the show $30 boxes always mean to me they were probably picked over pretty well... of course, maybe that's not true ... a couple of years ago a dollar box guy sold me about 200 dollar books for $100 at the end of the show and I got a lot of decent stuff in there like 10+ nice copies of MCP 72 and the rest of the weapon x books all nice and bagged and boarded (I think i have a few complete sets), so somehow $1 copies of MCP 72 had survived 4 days of NYCC and not been bought (unless he refreshed his inventory in mid-show). PITA dragging them home on the subway along with 2 other boxes of krap i bought as the trains were messed up and it was 3 trains for me to get home.
  14. when a shop near me closed around 10 years ago I had been buying his blowout books, $20 a short box, for anything he had in $1-$2 boxes, that sort of thing, we had become friendly, i'd bring him johnny walker (my friend worked for the distributor and got it free). on his last day he still had 6 long boxes of drek. he was just going to give them to me. I thought about my wife yelling at me and having to drag them up 3 flights of stairs and told him to keep them. that was when drek was drek and i had already picked the boxes. now i wonder how many thousands of $ were in those boxes at 2021 prices.
  15. it is a first appearance of 2 characters that may be relevant in the comics or shows. the earth 616 version of one seems to have some relevance in current comics. arcanna was "killed" a few years ago, but "off screen", so, of course, that means nothing. there's a third, but marvel hasn't done much with that one and killed him early. does that make it a $30 book? no.
  16. We never heard about a mile high III. With that said, I think titles like x-men that sold as back issues were more likely for shenanigans. Cap was an instant 25 cent box book then.
  17. No. This was earlier. You can look on eBay and see lots of them. It seems like even though everyone and his sister bought 10-100 copies of the "new" x-men book, it was not pushed at newsstands. Newsies in general for marvel from then are hardly rare, but for that title, maybe?
  18. well, i don't have any $2500 books to sell, so I won't be able to do any customer surveys to determine why they're feeling flush. my hulk 2 might be $2500 if i get it in a slab, but that isn't the kind of book we're talking about
  19. I never met a 20 cent cap in a dollar box i did not buy, so there's hope for this one! I have a ton of these... come on nightshade!!!: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=captain+america+164&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1
  20. defenders 112 is still selling with BIG numbers after the episode non-reveal. it was a $2 book 3 months ago. dottie jones is not arcanna. i thought it would drop. but having vision and scarlet witch in it (getting mind controlled!) might be enough? i guess enough 1sts of minor characters are enough. heck, they may drag arcanna out eventually if they are really going to push this multiverse stuff, and maybe even have her played by the same actress. Is Power Princess (what a name!) relevant to current story lines? The current earth 616 version is not the defenders 112 version though. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=defenders+112&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&LH_Auction=1&rt=nc&LH_Complete=1
  21. just read Mile High chuck's stories on the mile high website. basically some folks were not "destroying" returns they had submitted affidavits saying they were destroying were sending those returns back into the market as back issues. mile high ii was an example of a huge illegal stockpile of these books. he bought a wrehouse of them and started selling them as his own pedigree in the very early 80s? i think, but do not know, that the comic companies started getting a little tighter about returns after this.
