  1. I'm a reader. I definitely read all my comics. Right now my prides are my ASM 300 and GL 76. I love the art so a nice cover is key, because I love to display my books but it's not a deal breaker.
  2. Apologies in advance for such an open ended question but when I have a question I go to the best. Looking to spend about $500 on a good solid key. For me, it'd be the most I would have ever spent on a single book. Doesn't need to be the greatest copy but one with decent visual appeal. I'd take a 2.0 if it had a decent cover. Not looking to sell it but one that would keep it's value would be nice if I would need to sell down the road. I'm really looking for something silver/bronze age as more recent books just don't have that excitement factor at least for me. Are there any good deals still out there? Could I get a low grade IH181 (realizing it'd have no MVS) or AC 252 for about that? Only modern book I would consider is a BA 12. So, what is the best bang for my buck?
  3. Mine had the Captain America wave minus Cap and Taskmasker. They also had the Lady Thor/Odinson two packs. Hopefully, others have different waves. Still looking for Spider Gwen and Spider Woman.
  4. They do have an Archie "lite" out there called "Your Pal Archie" that is more in tune with the old style Archie. I've only seen the 1st issue. The art is more modernized but still Archie. As for the "new" Archie; it's OK, tweened it up but doesn't have that Archie style I love. I thought "Life with Archie" was excellent though.
  5. No, it hasn't. Was thinking of getting it pressed though.
  6. Finally got in on the club. Pretty happy when this came in the mail on Monday.
  7. Looks decent. Think a pressing would help. Would it be worth getting it graded?
  8. Finally joined the club. Pretty decent copy, could use a good pressing but I'm happy.
  9. Nothing spectacular but had a decent day at HPB. Nothing cost over $3.00 Some diamonds in the rough.
  10. He is. He didn't have a lengthy comic career but they are some great stories. Especially like how he snuck in a reference to Supergirl in the Post Crisis Deadman Christmas Special.
  11. Best Earth 2 Stories Posted this on the Bronze Age area, but since it encompasses multiple era's wanted to put it here as well. I've decided that I want to focus a bit on DC's Earth 2 stories. More specifically, the later era after the Silver Age. Post Flash meets Flash and stories like that. I've loved what DC did to some of the heroes of that era, Robin growing up, the Huntress, Clark and Lois marrying. I've been grabbing All Star Squadron's, but what are some other stories or books should I pick up? Thanks!

  13. Green Lantern 76 Picked this up just this past week. Was wondering what type of grade it may get. Not going to sell it per see but more for protection of the book.
  14. There within lies the rub. Out of the list I have no idea which one I want the most. All of them have their advantages.
  15. May be a bit tough. They're 5, 20 months and 6 months but the 5 year old loves superheroes and his dad's a comic fan as well so I'm sure he'll be exposed to the cause.
  16. Well, when I say I want to pass them down to my nephews I'm not looking to finance college for them. Back about 20 years ago my uncle gave me some of his old baseball cards and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Never thought about selling them. Just thought it was a nice gesture. Now, down the line I could see they have no interest in them and do something else but that was my intent. I have a list of books I'm currently looking at. ASM 121, Silver Surfer 4, Journey into Mystery 89, Batman 222, Superboy 89, GL 76 or 85. Guess, I want a good read and a cool cover to display. My mind won't let me decide. There is a cool ASM 121 signed by Stan Lee in a 2.5 on eBay right now for $275 or Best Offer but I have no idea if that's a decent price or what. I'm trying to read as much as I can but feel I've been out of the loop for so long, it's hard to get back into the saddle.
  17. Well, I've been buying books for the past 2-3 weeks. So, I have a small collection. The books I have been looking at were ASM 50 or or 121/122. GL 76 or 87 so no huge debuts buy mid range keys? (They'd big for me.) I'd be open to all ages. I really don't box myself into one age. Just good books.
  18. Great Condition Book vs. 2/3 Decent Condition Book to Start a Collection Hello, I've recently reentered the hobby after a layoff since my teens (20 + years); and have a question. I'm building up a collection not for resale but to enjoy and give to my nephews when they get older. I want my first "buy" to be in the $200-$300 range and want to know if I should go for 1 great condition book (9.0+) vs 2-3 decent (3.0-5.0) bigish keys? And what would I be able to get for my $$$. Looking for mainly superhero books and some favorites are Spiderman, Superman, Green Lantern, Flash, Captain America, Iron Man (i.e. the biggies). Could be from any era though I've been mainly grabbing Silver and Bronze Age books so far. Thanks for the help and I appreciate all opinions.
  19. Found a CA #180 (first Nomad) with a MJI at my LCS yesterday. Would this be considered a minor key? 5%-10% increase or less?
