My point was directed at the intent of the people involved.
If the director or producer can change the intended purpose of the artist entirely from what it was originally intended to be then that is very disturbing.
Again not uncommon. A finished film goes through so many iterations from editing to sound to editing again to studio input to after focus input back to editing an sound and director input and scenes can end up quite different than originally storyboarded/scripted. I'm sure there is a clause in most contracts allowing the studio et al to make changes as they see fit. A seasoned actor like Cage should not be surprised at this.

So, he was under the impression that he was filming something completely different than the end product? Wow.
Honestly, that is not a new thing, especially in these times of AI and CGI..

The Flash Movie Suffers Worst Box Office Flop In DCEU Superhero History
https://thedirect.com/article/the-flash-movie-box-office-flop-dceu-superhero
Weird that immediately following That Headline comes this:
The Flash was one of the biggest box office flops in DCEU superhero history.
So what's it gonna be? The worst or one of the worst ? These writers make me embarrassed to have been a writer.
-
I wanted to see if there was a superhero movie I was unfamiliar and hit MAX (aka HBO) and saw THE FLASH and noted 2023 as the date. Thought...hmmm...OK.
I am just about halfway thru and enjoying this immensely. It feels like those goofy Checkerboard/GoGo Checks SA DC comics and is just what I was looking for. I'll check in later to fill in my final assessment.
*** BACK ***
So I finished watching it and, overall, liked it quite a bit. I am not a huge fan of movies based on time manipulation, mainly because they are often cliche and somewhat obvious. This one took me on a fine ride and held my attention. I loved Sasha Calle as Kara. Really like the way they brought her in and loved the 'tude. I do hope to see her reprise the role, of course on a different timeline. There were some fun moments with the Lasso of Truth that actually made me chuckle. Initially I was taken aback with seeing the older versions of some heroes in cameo but mainly because it was so unexpected and rather jarring. In retrospect I will like them better on subsequent viewings.
I have gotten to the point with the MCU of adding them to my favorites but not getting around to watching them. Well, except for WEREWOLF BY NIGHT (love both the B&W and color versions). I shall be exploring more of DC in hopes of more fun. I think next up will be Shazam! Fury of the Gods!

Adding an Edgar Rice Burroughs lot all with Frazetta covers to the group (3 books)
Group lot of Ace Doubles - all D series (5 total books)
Asking $30 shipped (CONUS only). All proceeds to JimJum12
Please note: Due to the holidays, I don't think I will be able to ship these until the end of next week. But I will keep in touch with buyer to let them know when they ship.
D-150 - The World Jones Made (Philip K ) & Agent of the Unknown (Margaret St. Clair) - Poor but readable. Pages are falling out of book. I've checked a couple times though and it appears to be complete.
D-443 - The Dark Destroyers (Manly Wade Wellman) & Bow Down to Nul (Brian W Aldiss) - VG- Multiple non-color breaking bends on cover of Dark Destroyers. Otherwise perfectly readable.
D-449 - The Genetic General & Time to Teleport (both Gordon R Dickson) - Near Fine/Fine Nicest of the group. Miscut cover only real issue. Bought it recently and then realized I already had a copy.
D-457 - Vulcan's Hammer (Philip K ) & The Skynappers (John Brunner) - Not sure how to grade. Looks VG+ or so but about 80 pages of Vulcan's Hammer and 20 pages of The Skynappers are no longer glued to spine. They aren't loose yet, but they have broken away from the spine. Also some chips out of top cover Vulcan's Hammer.
D-507 - Meeting at Infinity (John Brunner) & Beyond the Silver Sky (Kenneth Bulmer) - VG+ This one would be nicer if it had been shipped to me in a box. The bottom right corner of Beyond the Silver Sky got dinged and bent during shipment. Otherwise it is a really nice copy.
Additional note: If someone is interested in this lot, I also have readers copies of Ace H-30 City by Clifford Simak and Ace D-261 The Variable Man and Other Stories by Philip K . The Variable Man has some loose pages at the beginning, but is complete. I will add these to the lot if someone wants them.
The photos are a little yellow. Color is better than photos show.
Adding a few more books. Still $30 shipped CONUS.
Edgar Rice Burroughs lot - all Frazetta covers!
The two Ace Tarzan books are in Good reader condition. I thought Return of the Mucker was around VG shape, but when I pulled it out to take a photo, it has some loose pages unfortunately. Still decent reader though.
Again, photo is more yellow than books actually are.

I’ve seen this for years and years on the boards and now had to jump on the chance to own a copy. It’s one of those that intrigues every time you look at it. Thanks!
Indeed. I am not a big underwater scene fan but that Nightmare is a favorite PCH cover!

Bible Tales for Young Folk/People (Atlas, 1953)
Complete 5 issue title run, $200 shipped (USA and Canada), all $$ goes to Jimbo (I bought issues 3, 4 & 5 from the man himself!)
#1 VG (4.0): tearing around staples; cover creasing, looks like a bit of light blue crayon markings on FC
#2 VG- (3.5): cover edge chipping; heavy diag. creasing LRFC
#3 VG (4.0): general wear, creasing, a few tears along cover edges; "KENDAL" written in ink FC
#4 GD (2.0): pretty rough...cover edge tearing; 1" upper spine split; interior cover edge tanning; cover barely hanging on to top staple; heavy spine/reading wear
#5 VG (4.0): couple of cover edge tears; small triangle piece missing URFC; weak spineAn intriguing addition to a pre-code Atlas collection!

I can't find my post, but somewhere I mentioned "hiding the picture" once the book is sold, I should have said "please put the picture in a spoiler" don't delete the post. The spoiler if you are not sure what I'm talking about is that EYE thingy in the top row of your post . Just click on the picture and hit the eye thingy.
Thank you
Not to be "oh THAT guy" but just a reminder if you have sold a book please wrap it in a spoiler. It really makes it much easier to see what is still available.
Get well Jimbo!!!!!!!!
And now back to our regularly scheduled rant.

... I think it's a bit of a stretch to compare it to the quality and social impact of BP...
That's what I was saying. I brought it up as I have seen some "representation" comparisons between BB and BP and felt, like you, they were something of a stretch.
-
Watched it on MAX today. It reminded me a lot of the first Ant-Man, but overall I enjoyed it. I would not compare it to Black Panther as far as representation. BP showed a lot of the culture, the politics etc. Blue Beetle focused on the dynamics of a family. Still, a pleasant enough outing with generally likable characters.

THE FLASH starring Ezra Miller 2022

Just tell that to Orson Welles! (Italics in above quote mine)
As regards audience members, some aren't even aware a film is comprised of mostly 2-5 seconds clips all stitched together with sound providing the audience a sense of continuity. Anyone who doubts that can put on a movie and count the number of seconds before a scene changes. It is why the "long take" is often cited in reviews and reactions, as they are so uncommon.
