i would continue to use the registry. it's such a great resource.
i don't think the theft was tied to information listed there.

seeing some people on here upset that I haven't provided a list of the stolen books, or additional info. it's a slow and painful process to go through my cgc registry and compare it to the books that remain. it will take some time, but I'll post the list of missing books as soon as I gather them.
i am near the downtown LA area, closer to pasdena.
yes, i do have home insurance which will cover some of the loss, but to be honest it's not about the cash or replacing the books. so much of the collection is stuff i bought off the shelf, enjoyed and cared for. sad to have all that time and energy wiped out because some insufficiently_thoughtful_persons saw a way to make a quick buck.
regardless, i appreciate everyone who took the time to submit valuable information.
the people who made it about los angeles being a city, thanks for reminding me why i don't engage in boards or social.

Over the holidays we had a break in at the house and half of my graded comics were stolen.
All are part of the registry here. Curious beyond reporting to the police and local comic shops what can be done to prevent the books from being resold?
I don't believe we were targeted. Thieves broke in and just loaded up on whatever they could carry out. I'm starting the painful process of checking my remaining comics against the registry to see what's missing. I may post a list of everything that was taken down the road. It's just going to take a while to make my way through it.
I do want to mention that if anyone gets offered books with a white sticker on the back of the CGC bag they are stolen books. I used this as a means of tracking what I had input into the CGC database.
Any advice the community can provide is appreciated.

I stepped away for a bit to spend some time with the family, but was really moved by all the great responses to my post. I don't believe we were targeted.
