  1. So, that Deadpool #5 came out today, with the amazing Garbage Pail Kids homage cover. It's already going for ~$20 on eBay, and my LCS had 9 copies. How many would you buy? Is it a move to buy all of a single book that is in stock? I couldn't make it there, but my brother picked me up 3 copies, he said he "didn't want to be that guy" and take them all. Discuss
  2. So what's the story on this one? I can't read the slab notes on the CBCS re-grade. "______ Last 18(?) pages detached & completely split? "
  3. Some classes in high school were boring, so I'd draw comic or video game characters in my notebook... I could not draw hands (or anything else really), so I either gave everyone claws or swordy fingers, or blown up arms (sorry Doom!) These are terrible, and I encourage you to laugh The only thing I was good at was shading, and inanimate objects. I really liked Ripclaw for some reason. Look out Liefeld!
  4. Yes, I was told it will be the original actors reprising their roles.
  5. I think it's mostly the investors that care, the more writing on the label that identifies it as unique, the higher the value. A Spawn #1 newsstand is super rare in a 9.8, and sells for a premium over the direct edition. Same with Spawn #9, which is even more scarce. #opinion...That being said, I don't see the need for the notation though, it's plain as day whether there's a barcode or not.
  6. I think they could differentiate between Newsstand & Retail without distracting from the label. Just add a letter in the bottom right corner, done (probably could have made that font smaller) Or make the hologram a bit smaller, and put "Retail" / "Newsstand" underneath it.
  7. Wonder why they went from noting the actual names written on the cover..to just 'name written on cover'.
  8. The place is ginormous, I wouldn't think there's any issue at all with holding pick-up orders for locals, especially with the London office opening up, it'll take small load off from the overseas shipments.
  9. I'm less than an hour from Chicago, and am trying to give you hundreds of dollars, but you won't answer your pm's anymore
  10. I've never seen these before. I watched the Smurfs all the time when I was a kid, never thought they were in a comic that old, and one from Belgium yet. Neat!
  11. Preview books don't even feel like real comics to me. It's like a commercial, in print form. It's like when baseball cards came in cereal boxes and whatnot, there were rookie cards, but no one really cared about them, and wanted the official versions.
  12. Saw this on a FB group... does this really happen? What do they think someone could possibly be hiding inside a comic? Yikes Makes me a little leery about buying from America's hat now.
  13. It was decided really quickly that they were not legit... it was left up for the humor factor.
  14. I hope this book, being that S.S. isn't on the cover... sets a fire under Strange Tales 110, which I think is still way undervalued.
  15. A 1.8 just sold for $450 a couple weeks ago.
  16. Because it is the largest comic b/s/t group on Facebook (almost 40k members), and spammers/bots looove large, high member groups. Nico runs a tight ship though, it's a pretty solid group.
  17. Tell me that's photoshopped... I know he is terrible with proportions, but that is just... I can't...
  18. Got a stack back this week... this one has so many rings it looks like it has water damage. Looks even worse in person
  19. It's weird that he didn't delete them after years of seeing stories about people getting burnt by past tweets. He really thought what he said was no big deal... yikes.
  20. I got those 3 books back in my original post, from CGC today, all came back 9.0, but none of them were noted as File Copies Only 1 of the 3 were even credited as Lee Elias covers, even though you can clearly see his trademark circle signature plain as day... pretty unhappy about that. I don't think people should be grading golden age books if they don't even know such a prominent name as Elias... sheesh.
  21. It was a good popcorn movie, and I finished a large tub by myself while watching it, for the first time ever. Not sure if that was because I was really hungry after work, it was really cold in the theater and chewing kept my body working/warm, or I didn't care if I missed some dialogue while crunching. Probably a bit of all 3
  22. I like the current precious metal system... maybe Nickel, Lithium, Palladium, Vibranium, Bitcoin eras
