  1. A sad day indeed. My profound appreciation to a man who helped fill my childhood with wonder, imagination, happiness, awe, and a desire to become an artist... along with helping (with my parents) instill the beginnings of a positive social sensitivity and acceptance towards people of all color, religion, sex, and circumstance.
  2. Great show. Sorry to say I can't make this one due to a family thing... so there will be more keys for everyone to nab, lol. There was also another email from Derek that everyone should see (copied below)... Just a reminder (even though many if not all of you know already) about our Comic Con this Sunday October 14th. Show hours 10 AM to 4 PM. Clarion Hotel and conference center 76 Industrial Highway (Route 291) • Essington, PA 19029 Looks like it is an Eagles bye week so no excuses this show! Admission still holding steady at only $3 per person. Want to support the show then bring along a friend or three. Please no early birds. Many of our vendors come from far and wide and need every minute available to setup until the last minute when our doors open at 10. If you are not an early riser then feel free to show up in the afternoon as still plenty of good deals to be had. Dig through all those boxes in the room. I did some great buying at my last show and didn't understand why those goodies were still to be found (set of Venom Lethal Protector, Amazing Spider-Man 361 high grade copies which I had slabbed onsite at the Baltimore Comicon and you can find them on my wall this weekend). Special guest artists and creative talent include Darren Auck, Steve Myers, Jacob Jones-Goldstein, J. Patrick Conlon and Hector Nazario rounding out the guest list. Dealers from far and wide with another sold out show jam packed with goodness (and FUN!) On Facebook? Then check out PhiladelphiaComicCon or ComicBookShows.
  3. Here's the Dealer list... Philadelphia Comic Book Convention Date: Sunday, June 3, 2018 • Hours: 10am to 4pm • Admission: $3 Location: Clarion Hotel Conference Center (formerly Ramada Philadelphia Airport), 76 Industrial Highway, Essington, PA 19029 Parking: Free on-site Here is our stellar dealer line up. Haven't been in awhile? Well, we have some fresh blood in the room. Also, most if not all the regular dealers have restocked. Me personally I have been buying a bunch of books for the wall. I know several others who have boxes packed with new material for your viewing pleasure (and purchasing pleasure too). Collectors Comics Dollar Joes Toys from the basement The Supply King Mike Carbonaro/Big Apple Conventions Everyday Comics/John Rodemaker Madcap Comics/Mike DeCarl Stormwatch Comics Tim Q Joe Regina Mike Kremer Clandestine Comics/Fred Edeson Plunder Palace Joe Walsh Dustin Hovatter (one of the behind the scenes guru for the Baltimore Comic Con. This is Justin's first time dealing at our show. You definitely have to check out his stock) Chris Bass Debra Bellino The Pop Kings Brads Bargain Comics AA Comics & Cards Raphe Cheli (from the Chicago area! Another first timer but experienced retailer) Rob Kremis Basement Pressing Services, Inc. Basement Comics/ AL Stoltz (noted Overstreet price guide advisor and all around swell guy!) 4. That works... the story needs a reason for them to meet/fight without getting into Alpha Flight too much
  5. Of course that would be ideal, I'm willing to settle for an extended flash back at this point.
  6. With the pending Disney/Marvel - Fox merger (and with Sony/Marvel sharing Spidey), this thread is starting to come full circle... and most said and/or believed it could NEVER happen. In the next couple years or sooner we could certainly get Wolverine and Hulk in the same film at some point... a new wolverine it sounds like (Hugh says he's done), but it could happen. There are rumors that Marvel is considering tweaking the next (4th) Avengers movie (2nd Infinity War installment) to introduce some characters into the MCU. I'm thinking a Hulk 181-esque flashback scene... Wolvie vs. Hulk as both come face to face again... remembering their battle from years back. That would be epic...
  7. You're quite welcome SECollector. The Air Freshener I used was a Glade plug in cartridge? The kind you slide into a unit that's plugged into an outlet.
  8. Posting for Derek... Just a quick reminder about our last show of 2017. Going out in style with a huge show and yet another packed and sold out dealers room! This Sunday October 1, 2017 from 10 AM to 4 PM. Admission is only $3 per person. Held in the Presidential ballroom of the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center 76 Industrial Highway (Route 291) Essington, PA 19029 Located between exits 8 and 9A off of I-95. Special guest cosplayer will be Sofia Sivans. Were you aware she has an online presence with more then 200,000 followers? While I don't expect all 200,000 to show up I am anticipating an higher upswing then our usual attendance figures. Don't like crowds then show up in the afternoon as there are still piles of merchandise to peruse and the first wave of fans are gone by 1 PM. Ideal time for in depth box diving is between 1 to 4 PM. Also very special guest artists will be Paris Cullins and Ron Wilson. Paris is offering a 10% discount if you pre-order a commission from him before the show. He would like to get a jump on things to not disappoint anyone. He was very busy all day the last show. If you would like anything from Ron then try to let me know by tonight and I will send on your e-mail requests. I picked up a pile of The Comic Buyers Guide if anyone remembers that periodical. Dating back to 2000. I did see old adverts for our show which reminded me I haven't raised the admission price of $3 per person since then. I don't anticipate me doing it either in the mean time. Just wanted to point out that I feel my show is one of the best values in the country for cons. Besides our great guest list since this is our last show of the year then be prepared for possible parking issues. There is a lot behind the hotel for dealers which you can use if the main lot out front fills up to capacity. 2018 has more comic book goodness in the works. Our first show will be January 21 of that year. Mark your calendars. Then March 4th. Trying to figure out an April date with our venue. If nothing (meaning not a single weekend day ) is available then our show would be May 6th as that so far is the only date they had open in the spring time. On Facebook? Then check out PhiladelphiaComicCon and ComicBookShows

  14. Just a reminder to join us once again for the Philadelphia Comic-Con being held Sunday April 30th from 10 AM to 4 PM. Admission is only $3 per person and parking is FREE. An abundance of comic goodness in the room with 4 special guests from the industry and a packed (and sold out once again) dealers room. Show is being held in the Presidential ballroom at: Clarion Hotel and Conference Center 76 Industrial Highway (Route 291) Essington, PA 19029 Conveniently located between exits 8 and 9A off of I-95. Easily accessible from other major highways and byways too. Special guests this show: RON WILSON - Marvel artist from the 1970's to present day. For those of you who couldn't get artwork from him the last show. He was busy all day and for those of you who ordered a sketch at the end he will bring it up for you. ZACK DOLAN- Another repeat from the last show too. He had a very successful show also and wanted to continue the fun he had. Stop by and see Zack. His art is really underappreciated. JAY TAYLOR- Head honcho from On The Square Comics and a local South Jersey resident joining us this year for another rare area appearance. TONY D- Writer for the SImpsons line of comic books from Bongo Comics. He will have issues with him he worked on you can buy from him and get signed. Pro tip- Feel free to show up later after one for the parking lot to clear out for the first wave of fans. Sorry for those of you who had to wait in the long, long line to get into the show. We stay open until 4 PM so plenty of time if you are a later sleeper. My other tip is dig, dig, dig through the boxes. I do at the end to give you guys first shot at the goodies the dealers bring. I can't believe the stuff I find in there which make their way onto my wall. Yes, the books are that good in the long boxes throughout the show. Can't make this one? Well try really hard as we will have a long break and return to the area on July 9th.
  15. I'll be there... is there a dealer list yet? Anyone new?
  16. I just heard from Derek that artist Ron Wilson will be in attendance! Nice lineup of guests!
  17. See you there Carl! Love this show. Hope there will be tons of new material in the room as usual.
