  1. I'm quite sure 90%+ of those books are very well represented in 9.8 in the census now. The purpose of the articles back then were to illuminate books that basically were not meeting demand (and not coincidentally issues I was seeking). The lists were basically a heads up to dealers to find/sub those books as they stood to cash in... and us bronze collectors could fill gaps. It wasn't investment advice... more like an "opportunity tip" as I was willing to pay up. I think Rich Henn took the articles to heart and produced the first Rom 1 9.8s to market and really cashed in. I considered a follow up article, but I don't think there are many bronze keys/semi-keys with only (1) 9.8 left . I haven't checked in some time, but I'm guessing that "Where Creatures Roam #1" and "Where Monsters Dwell #1" may still only have the sole 9.8s that I sold to Doc Joe years back. I bet there aren't many Marvel Spotlight 5 9.8s either. I should just check... maybe there are (12). Either way... probably would be a very short article. Those articles are from 2006. Just curious if Bruce or anyone has compared current census numbers. It would be interesting to see which books are still more rare. And I know I could do it myself but my curiosity doesn't outweigh my laziness.
  2. Thanks fellas! Timing was pretty good on the DC Super-Stars 17... one just sold 2 days ago for $1050 (and this one looks a bit nicer). Got some more grades today on a small 4 issue economy fast-track sub. • ASM 137 CGC 9.6 oww (hoped for 9.8, ah well) • Astonishing Tales 25 CGC 9.6 White • Fear 19 CGC 9.4 oww • Forever People 1 CGC 9.4 oww
  3. Books arrived today! As promised, here are some of the scans of items not already pre-sold/sold:
  4. 'Tis impossible to taketh the thunder from Thor himself.
  5. Thanks Mike... that move (re)opened a whole wide range of (mid/late bronze) books that are now worth subbing (even in 9.2 & 9.4 in many cases). And, when you really break it down... for $3 more than the old standard $25 price for 1975-1979 books, you can get them back (fast tracked) in a month compared to 3+ months prior. The timing is also perfect... as many of these books are re-emerging/spiking in this reinvigorated bronze market. I love it.
  6. Thanks fellas... I'm obviously pretty happy . I got to the booth (where I scored the most) about 5 minutes before several BSD dealers and found some great stuff first (for a change). Sure kicking myself for not sending in the Ms. Marvels immediately, but grateful for finding them.
  7. Well, you're sticking with the "one-word J__K theme" anyway...
  8. Just got these grades today... books just shipped from CGC. I'm VERY Stoked! Looks like its gonna' be a pretty damn good holiday for those on my shopping list. One of my best subs ever. I'll post another slide show when they arrive for those that want to see the books. About 20 or so were bought at Baltimore... I now really LOVE Baltimore!
  9. ... Nah, it's easier this way. Then people don't have to scroll so far when comments are made on quoted posts. 30 is a bunch.
  10. 30 Freshly Graded CGC Gems Arrived Today... (figured a photobucket slideshow is preferable to posting 30 books in the thread?)
  11. Nice Joe! Great timing to have all those 98s.
  12. Here's some from Philly On-Site and just before (a little old I know, but I post so infrequently I might as well throw some more up now as I have a rare moment to chill on the boards)... I'm sure I'll get bashed for posting older than 1 week subs.
  13. (hard to stay above water against Greggy) I haven't posted my sub results in awhile, but will be doing it more regularly... got 30 more coming in 2 weeks that should be pretty decent.
  14. Some arrived today and some On-Site at Baltimore...
  15. I just had the pleasure of doing another deal with Michael... after a 7 year gap since our last one. We used to do many deals in the early "gold rush" CGC era. Nothing has changed. Michael is still one of nicest, easy to deal with collectors in the hobby. (thumbs u
  16. Not hoarding... $elling. Thanks though (thumbs u
  17. Good point. Ground-breaking, socially relevant Stan Lee story that was told despite significant resistance.
  18. Thanks Rich... and thanks for all your help and advice with various signings and pricing... oh "Godfather of Signature Series".
