I think the Lady Shiva piece sold within the last few years if I’m not mistaken.
I’ve owned it for around eight or nine years and did not win it at auction. Apologies Mike for initial Post

Sometimes acquiring the art is a small portion of the joy/enjoyment you get lookin at it once it’s framed on the wall or in the itoya. I can def see how a sour interaction can sully a piece and change your pov on it after the fact of getting it.

Nick with his olive oil voice and guinea charms buying pre sale to cherry pick and resell the "must have it extra pages", Xatari with his constant unsolicited fishing emails without offering a price on art he wants. This is OA life. What can you do but embrace it and enjoy?
Real life is crazy enough. No need to get riled up w perceived slights in a hobby we all love.

Yes but if you win, they don't have to check to see if they actually have the item.

This may be a dumb question but how do you guys actually pay for the art at a show?
Cash, PayPal, credit cards?
I once handed Eric Powell $600 in 20s and it was a bit awkward.
Doge Coin or NFT promissory notes!

Here are a couple of my observations of nutty sales, relative to my (now outdated) understanding of these markets

I hemmed an hawed for a good few years, checking in and admiring this DPS from afar. I even made an offer once which was quasi accepted. Finally, this past black friday was a 50% off sale. I knew it was now or never and would of probably been miffed if it was snatched, so I pulled the trigger.
I read the Thunderbolts during the pre and post Dark Reign error. It was a good fun read. This is a sweet example of pretty much all of the players on both of those teams in 1 nice image. Pencils and inks by Declan Shalvey
