Toho's GODZILLA MINUS ONE directed by Takashi Yamazaki (12/1/23)
rexinnih replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
OK, saw this today. Damn, if Parasite got a Best Picture nomination, and win to boot, then this should also get a nomination. Just an amazing movie. I'll admit I was hyped for the past Monsterverse movies when the first one came out but lost interest. So glad this one is starting new. Such emotion and story with a monster thrown in.- 213 replies

Sorry if this is a repeated question but is this Godzilla a standalone reboot or part of the new series with Kong and/or related to the OG Godzilla series? Thanks.- 213 replies

Always loved that cover. Nice!

I'm glad I got most of my Sig Series during COVID and was very happy with the grades coming back including a few slabbed 9.8's that came back the same. Now, I'm hesitant to even send 9.8s in for reholdering for fear of a drop. I'll quit while I'm ahead.

I worked retail in high school and college so know someone, somewhere will complain about something every time. I like the custom labels, especially if it's aligned with the comic I am slabbing (FF 48, Secret Wars 8, etc.) and there's a choice if I want to get it or not. If you want to get it, go for it. If not, move along.

WB's BLUE BEETLE movie starring Xolo Mariduena (2023)
rexinnih replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
Had time today and needed to redeem by birthday popcorn and drink at AMC. This was the $5 Tuesday movie so thought I'd give it a shot. Had no background on the character and wasn't really needed. here were nods to "Blue Beetle" but besides a relative, didn't think that made it a deal breaker if you didn't know much background. Overall, an ok movie. Good to see a latino demographic reach out. Not too much painting outside the typical storylines but worth a watch.- 263 replies

Why people send random book for grading to cgc?
rexinnih replied to BA773's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
Well, beauty or slabbing is in the eye of the beholder. I've done it for investment and for sentimental reasons, the first comic I can remember buying off the rack, etc. If you want to send them to CGC, send them to CGC. -
The original Battlestar Galactica show is extremely nostalgic for me riding the post Star Wars high in 1978. I do need to give the reboot another chance as I binged all seasons back to back and was pretty burned out at the end.

My Roy Thomas' just moved to Scheduled for grading. -
Well, Kirby would be an obvious choice but I did have the honor of meeting him so I'll lean towards two I never did get the chance to meet. 1. Allen Bellman - found out who he was in 2019 and had great correspondence with him and did a couple of commissions. Wanted to fly to a show he was attending but COVID prevented that 2. Herb Trimpe - Bummed I never had the chance to meet him before he passed
