  1. More Fun Comics #80 Rockford pedigree (DC, 1942) CGC VF 8.0 Cream to off-white pages. Green Arrow does his best William Tell impression on this George Papp cover, and inside the book there's a host of other heroes, including Doctor Fate, Aquaman, Johnny Quick (with Mort Meskin art), and the Spectre (with Bernard Baily art). From the Northern Lights Collection. Second highest graded copy. The Church pedigree is the only one higher at CGC 9.4. Heritage has only auctioned seven copies in nearly 20 yeas and none since 2014. $1,700.00
  2. More Fun Comics #79 (DC, 1942) Condition: CGC 7.5 Off-White Pages Green Arrow and Speedy cover. Heritage has auctioned only six copies. Three copies grade higher (two are pedigrees, Rockford 9.4 and Church 9.6) but this issue is simply not available. The last Heritage copy sold was a raw VG/FN in 2015, and none before that since 2005! A CGC 4.0 copy sold in June 2019 for over 2x Guide! So, as with many issues in this series, good luck finding it! And if you don't want to spend $6,000 - $9,000 for those two pedigree copies, this copy is the one for you! $1,500.00
  3. More Fun Comics #78 (DC, 1942) CGC 8.0 Cream to Off-White Pages Second Green Arrow cover. George Papp cover and art. Bernard Baily, Mort Meskin, Paul Norris, and Howard Sherman art. Heritage has sold less than a dozen copies of this book and most of them were in its first years of business back in 2002-2004! Few copies have been available over the last decade. $1,600.00
  4. More Fun Comics #75 (DC, 1942) CGC 7.0 Cream to Off-White pages A really sweet copy of this German War/Hitler cover issue. In the book, a new origin of the Spectre is presented, there's a Dr. Fate appearance, and obviously there are early appearances by Aquaman and Green Arrow (having just appeared for the first time two issues earlier). Howard Sherman cover and art. Bernard Baily, Jerry Robinson, George Papp, and Mort Meskin art. Heritage has very few examples of this book being offered over the last 18 years. A CGC 7.5 (same PQ) copy sold just last week for $1,860.00. $1,775.00
  5. More Fun Comics #45 Billy Wright pedigree (DC, 1939) CGC FN+ 6.5 Off-white to white pages. One of just four copies that CGC has certified. Two grade higher. Great adventure cover!!!! Another amazing Creig Flessel cover. Bernard Baily, story and art. Jerry Siegel story. Joe Shuster art. The issues in the 40s are virtually impossible to find, and this was one of the last books I purchased when I was chasing the title. There are only four unrestored copies on the CGC census. Heritage has sold only four unrestored copies. The last one in 2016 was a raw VG+ and sold for over 2x Guide. $2,000.00
  6. More Fun Comics #38 Billy Wright pedigree (DC, 1938) CGC 4.0 Off-white to white pages. This is one of only five certified copies, and there are only two graded higher (in fact, much higher! The Billy Wright copy at CGC 9.0 and the Church copy at CGC 9.4)! Heritage has only sold three unrestored copies (the two pedigrees) and one raw Fair copy! None since 2014. This obviously shows how incredibly tough these issues are to find, and this one's 12/38 cover date puts it earlier than Detective #27 and before many Golden Age publishers had even begun publishing. So good luck finding a copy! Any Creig Flessel cover is a cherished find. One of the best GA artists hands down! A CGC 4.5 copy sold for $550 in 2017. $500.00
  7. More Fun Comics #36 (DC, 1938) CGC 6.5 Off-White pages Shades of the Little Rascals! That young man at the microphone looks a lot like "Alfalfa" on this great Creig Flessel cover! Inside, DC Hall of Fame artists Bob Kane, Joe Shuster, and Bernard Baily contributed story art. Only two copies have been certified higher at 9.2 and 9.6 (not surprisingly the Church copy). Heritage has only offered five unrestored copies in 18 years, and sold only one copy in the last nine years. From the Northern Lights Collection. $975.00
  8. More Fun Comics #33 (DC, 1938) CGC 4.5 Light tan to Off-White Gerber rates this issue a "7" or "scarce" on their Scarcity Index, and this copy is one of a few that have been certified by CGC to date. The cover is by Vin Sullivan, with interior art by Joe Shuster, Bernard Baily, and Bob Kane. Heritage has sold only three copies and none since 2012. $525.00
  9. More Fun Comics #25 (DC, 1937) CGC FN 6.0 Off-white pages. Dr. Occult story. Vincent Sullivan cover. Art by Sullivan, Joe Shuster, and Creig Flessel. Heritage sold a CGC 6.5 copy in August 2018 for $900.00 $800.00
  10. More Fun Comics #24 (DC, 1937) CGC VG+ 4.5 Light tan to off-white pages. Just three unrestored copies have been graded higher -- all pedigrees - the Billy Wright, Lost Valley and the Mile High copies! Vincent Sullivan cover. Dr. Occult story by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. A Gerber "scarce." Heritage hasn't sold a copy since 2012. $700.00
  11. More Fun Comics #22 (DC 1937) CGC VG+ 4.5 Light tan to off-white pages. Some of the most influential scripters and artists of comics' early days contributed to this issue, including Creig Flessel, Vincent Sullivan, Jerry Siegel, Joe Shuster, and Leo O'Mealia. Just five unrestored copies of this Gerber "scarce" issue have been certified by CGC to date, with the highest grade earned thus far a modest 6.0. The Church copy, which I used to own, is restored. Heritage has only sold three copies in nearly twenty years. $500.00
  12. More Fun Comics #19 (DC, 1937) CGC 6.5 off-white pages. Lost Valley pedigree. Gerber "7". Vincent Sullivan cover. Dr. Occult story by Jerry Siegel. Sullivan, Creig Flessel, and Joe Shuster art. Back cover ad for Detective Comics #1. Only one copy grades higher at an 8.0 and no surprise that it is the Church copy. Like most of these early More Fun comics, this copy is rarely for sale. Heritage sold a CGC 4.5 copy in January 2018 for $1,314.50. Before that, no copy had been offered since 2011. $1,700.00
  13. Yes, although I rarely come across any. Still also chasing any court exhibit copies I can find. I buy a lot of historical memorabilia, including comic related.
  14. More Fun Comics #17 (DC, 1937) CGC 4.0 off-white pages. This is the second highest graded copy with the top only at 6.5. Heritage has only auctioned off three copies (one of which was restored) in 18 years and it took them seven years in between actually obtaining a copy for sale! Not one copy has been available for ten years. When the New Year's cover is ringing in 1937 you know you've got an early comic book! This issue of DC's first series precedes the likes of Detective #1. Vin Sullivan cover art. Good luck finding a copy, especially one that looks this good! $1,900.00
  15. Once I sold the best copies, it just didn't have the same feel any longer to keep the rest (except for the first ten). And some of the issues jumped so high in value that buying them back again was a non-starter. But no worries as these funds will go to buy other collectibles! Can't cure me of that addiction!
  16. More Fun Comics #16 (DC, 1936) CGC 3.5 Light Tan to Off-White Pages This issue has the last of the three stories in which Dr. Occult wore red and blue and wielded super-powers -- an obvious "Superman tryout" for Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, who hadn't yet unveiled the Man of Steel (while Dr. Occult continued to appear in the series, this was the end of his "super" phase). Siegel and Shuster also contributed the Calling All Cars feature (later called Radio Squad), and a host of other adventure and humor strips rounded out the issue. The Christmas cover, which is ALWAYS sought after, was drawn by Vin Sullivan. The issue is a Gerber "7." Reuben Blades copy. Heritage has only auctioned three copies of this issue in 18 years!!!! Only seven copies have been graded. There must be something internal to the book to bring this issue down to a 3.5 because this is one of the best 3.5s I have ever seen. $1,500.00
  17. More Fun Comics #15 (DC, 1936) CGC 5.0 Off-white to white pages. This issue rates a Gerber "8". Only three copies grade higher. Heritage has had only five copies ever offered, and the last one was back in 2012. Vincent Sullivan provided the cover, and contributed interior artwork for this early issue, as did Creig Flessel, Lou O'Mealia, and Joe Shuster. Siegel and Shuster's Dr. Occult is a highlight. Sharp looking 5.0. I have no idea why it graded so low. What a beauty for a book over 80 years old!!! $2,100.00
  18. I do not find myself on the boards much any more but the old timers here know that at one time I was collecting the entire run of New Fun/More Fun comics (127 issues in all). I made it to within a hairs breadth of completion, including having many Church copies, when circumstances required me to offer most of the collection for sale. Pretty much all of the pedigrees were sold but I made sure I did not have to sell New Fun #1-6 and More Fun #7-10. Any collector who knows the history of this title is aware of its incredible importance to our community. Now, I am finally getting back to offering what remained to those of you on the boards. 19. GPA reports CGC 8.0 sold for $600 in April 2018 and a CGC 7.0 for $475 in February 2018. No CGC 7.5 sales. Colors are darker/deeper than photo shows. Domestic shipping is $15.00 priority mail. International shipping is whatever cost is. If not satisfied, you can return within one week so long as in same condition. First wins. $575.00
