  1. I bought a collection a few years ago that had a sizable run of them, which I sold but not before reading them. They are actually quite good, even after all of these years. (thumbs u
  2. Yes, ok, this isn't exactly a comic book but it is just too darn cool not to post in a popular thread such as this one! Anyway, a looooooong time ago there were comic books inside. You can still see the remnants! Two of the original binders from the offices of National Periodical Publications, Inc., now known to us all as DC Comics, in which the publisher formerly housed its bound copies of Action Comics #13 - 24 (1939-40) and Adventure Comics #12 - 22 (1937).
  3. I also tried contacting numerous Catholic organizations, and no one was really able to provide any substantive information. In fact most never heard of the Guild. If you contact anyone and they actually have knowledge, let me know!!! (thumbs u Why not just reprint the stories and see if anyone comes a calling...what's the worst that could happen? I can represent you if you get sued. (thumbs u And I work for comics.

  5. I have been trying to research the Guild for years. It is a complete mystery, as is anyone associated with it. I believe I know what entity purchased the rights to their publications back in the 70s I believe but they have never responded to my inquiries.
  6. It is actually quite interesting and very readable. It would be great to have all issues reprinted together.
  7. Alas, I don't own a B/W copy of Is This Tomorrow. I was the underbidder a couple of times it came up at Heritage.
  8. That's a great pick-up, congrats! I track this book all the time and own some raw copies. It is on e-bay several times year. Rarely in high grade. Seldom seen at shows or in auctions.
  9. A non-metallic version of the spinner rack!
  10. Here is the spinner rack I purchased unfortunately without a base. I presume it is from the early to mid 70s but if anyone believes/knows differently, please let me know. The image is the same on each of the sides.
  11. Never looked into fabrication...do they do the graphics as well? I also need a stand. Mistakenly bought a rack that did not have one. That's what I get for not paying attention.
  12. I originally thought my stand, which is a variation of the one the fellow on Craig's List has, was from the early 50s because of the Fawcett mention. The company left comics with the Captain Marvel-Superman settlement in 1954. But I forgot that Fawcett did continue to publish comic digests and you can see on my rack that the reference to the company, as well as to Peanuts, is to the upper slots which were for digests. So, both racks are likely from the late 60s, maybe early 70s. I probably overpaid for mine but they are not that easy to find (although they are around) and more importantly, as most people mention, being able to actually physically pick it up or have it shipped is the biggest problem. The one I just bought was local to me and it was easy to just drive over and pick it up. I bought another one up in NJ for just $75 and it is going to cost $150 to ship it!!!!
  13. I have found this book very difficult to come by. Just finally got a copy within the last few months.
  14. Holy cow, so true! I was trying to figure out what attack I was involved with given I'm barely on the boards like I used to be! Half-way down the page I finally realized this thread was 6 years old! Your ability to cause trouble is timeless. true, but I'm older now and its getting more difficult to remember what I did!
  15. 2012 POST 2006 POST BELOW Hopefully you feel the same about us being friends!!! Thanks for the e-mail earlier today. I really appreciated the outreach at a difficult time.
