  3. Action Comics 241- the first fortress of solitude! nice copy with what looks like a subscription crease down the middle. otherwise tight, good color and good staples. a 4.0 cgc copy sold last month for $276 and a 5.0 for $375. my price- SOLD
  4. Superman 130 from 1959 second appearance of Krypto with Superman- spine has some wear, otherwise a nice VG copy. 4.0 with good gloss. overstreet says $108 my price- $55
  5. Adventure Comics #110 from 1946! Only 8 unrestored copies on the CGC census! Really nice, clean copy. very light foxing inside on first and last pages. hard to believe a raw book this old can be so tight. one crease on cover top right which does not break color. it's a 6.5 or 7.0 FN to FN+ no recent sales in grade. Overstreet says $300 but i think he's low on this, plus it seems a bit cleaner than a 6.0. my price- $199
  6. Adventure Comics 253- the first meeting of Superboy and Robin from 1958- clean and tight copy, one chip missing from top of cover, otherwise no chipping. i make it a 5.5-6.0 FN. Overstreet says $126 my price- $75
  7. another ten cent batman- Detective Comics #115 this one is sound, no chipping and minor creasing. its major defect are several wormholes that go all the way through the book. please see pics. i call it a 4.0 VG. Overstreet is $226 for a 4.0, my price- SOLD

  9. World's Finest 18 from 1945! This book is in really nice condition for the age. A bit of spine wear. However, sadly, the last page has detached. Otherwise i have it as a FN, but given this, it is a 3.0 Overstreet says a 4.0 is $328. My Price: $150

  14. looking forward to pics of this show and hearing about everyone's experience at the show this weekend.
  15. great book, with white pages to boot! if i collected tecs i would be all over this! GLWTS!
  16. so after plodding through ep 6, i started ep 7 now and after 20 minutes i realized that i just dont care anymore. they blew it. after replacing milly alcock, who i had grown to love in the role of rhaenrya, they also seem now to have decided to dwell on a bunch of children for the whole first part of this episode. all the depth of character of the original series is gone, even matt smith's daemon, who had been one of the bright spots as an interesting and complicated character, is now boring and babyish.
  17. not commenting on j in particular, but it's easy to overlook the fact that so many of us on the boards have our biases depending on whether or not we own copies of a book. if we do, we want values to increase and we are resistant to possible news that our book's value is declining. and if we're in the market to buy, of course we want prices to tank so we can get it at a better price. i try to base my views in reality but i am well aware that i am very biased too.
  18. this is so true. i remember that for several years it more or less plateaued around 2017-2020. then the pandemic happened and it exploded. like with all books now, it is cooling, and may lie dormant for awhile. as spidey is likely to continue to remain the most popular superhero IN THE WORLD for the foreseeable future (my in-laws in japan can verify this at least in that one country) when things start looking bright again financially, it seems a good bet that todays AF15 prices will once again seem like deals. if only i had a couple hundred grand lying around, i'd buy 3 or 4 copies!
  19. if you recall, another boardie who used to work for CC recently alleged here that he witnessed metro bidding on and buying books in cc's auctions regularly. an auction house being owned and operated by a major comics reseller is a recipe for shenanigans and allegations. i would 100% ignore this result.
  20. usps is dicey and their claims process is a nightmare. fedex ground is now virtually the same price as priority mail and far more secure. their claims go quickly for the most part in my experience. however they have limits on the insurance that they offer. if you have a policy through CIS that covers all your shipments to and from.
