  1. sound advice! But the 27 is the 1st Thanos, at least according to Overstreet. Iron Man 55 is obviously a cameo. Thanos is in about 8 pages in IM 55. Iron Man 55 : Feb '73 Captain Marvel 27: July '73
  2. well, sure. i would expect both Canada and the UK to be considered secondary markets to the US for Marvel, and pricing in each would rise to match increases in the US. i think we agree that the likelihood of there being pence price variants is virtually nil
  3. while i agree it would have made more sense to extend it to Canada, i don't know how the delay in the UK would be a primary issue. if we assume they were tracking UK sales before the variants were issued in the US, then why wouldn't they get variant issue sales reporting in the same time frame they would have normally gotten for their regular priced issues? i'm sure it didn't take six months for them to figure out they were going to go to an increase in November 1977 for books sold in the U.S. they probably had all the data they needed by the time the September issues hit the stands... i must be missing something. i think a more likely reason is something like the UK not providing a wide enough geographic distribution to hide the two prices, combined with Marvel perhaps not sending enough books over to the UK to run both prices at the same time
  4. What the hell is all over the gorilla!! nice book Blood. The *spoon* stabbed him! that's a rare species of gorilla, found only in a small patch of the mountains of Zaire, known as "Reece's Silverback." it bleeds peanut butter
  5. I think it is what some people live for. (looks at the post above his) What is really sick is when people make postings to celebrate that they have reached a certain postcount, dont you agree MK? seriously.
  6. severe miscut still a nice copy. there's a miscut / production error thread around here somewhere that this book would fit perfectly within
  7. So what are you trying to say about Greggy? i'm probably one of five people on this site that doesn't think about greggy all the time, so i really don't know if i am trying to say anything about the man
  8. Gotta love the bottom blurb/pic of the Injustice Society terrorizing the Justice Society's round table.....those scoundrels really knew how to get back at their enemies huh? The look of indifference on Wonder Woman's face is worth the price of admission on this one. Scott it's a swipe of All-Star 37's cover cover image
  9. i would put a thread in General about an hour before the sale. no one should tell you boo about it, since that's where that sort of thing should go
  10. jeezus, TGS, weren't you the dude talking about dumping your collection because of job woes like two weeks ago? i'd love to see how much you'd buy if you had a primo job!
  11. 5k bah. pickerington is polluting your mind. almost as bad as chillicothe
  12. i didn't see the tiny "reprint" box in the logo. i thought you might have nabbed a set of .35c SW variants, which would have made you back at least 20x your money
  13. dude, what is the cover price on the Star Wars 1-4?
  14. Those books are stoopid fresh, Drew. you sonofabiscuit
  15. post counts are pretty useless. if you can't figure out if someone is worth being friendly to or not after about six posts, then you shouldn't be on a message board. some people come around after bad first impressions, but they are few and far between. only a total loser would be impressed at someone else's post count. and that goes double for someone impressed by their own post count
  16. My first Curator. great story in this one, too. along with the DD/Cap fight in 43, it's one of the best SA DD tales
  17. i've had a coverless copy of this book since i was about four.
