  1. Kudos to October for taking the chance on a 30% junk grader. blind squirrels, nuts, and all that you know
  2. prolly involved cutting out the along the dotted lines...that Four Color 422 is a nice one, shame about the spine rub/chipping/tearing
  3. yah, you will see those coloured in diamond prices inside the starburst all over the place. it's not as common as the regular newsstand, but it's not technically a "price variant." whitman variant, yes, but it seems like these were quite plentiful in certain areas
  4. And yet he's getting his own TV series. Might be a good time to be picking those books up. shut! up! yah, 'tober, you snooze and things get bought out from under you...or something. they were very accurately graded, too, with WHITE pages, the both of 'em. yay me
  5. just picked up a pair of VF/VF+ SA Aquamans from Sid the Bass Man hisownself at 40% off guide. slowly building a cheapskate VF SA Aquaman set here
  6. Kudos to SidBassGMan - or however that username is capitalised - for a pair of sweet, accurately graded, and excellently packed SA Aquaman books! could not be happier, unless they had been free

    Uh-oh...

I always used the shiny side of the backing board against the comic, as it made the most sense. you and 99% of the rest of us, i'd wager
  8. is that Stalin? at that point in the war, Russia was on our side against the Nazis. maybe it's the leader of Hungary or Romania or one of the other Axis allies, but i doubt that it's Stalin, despite what the OPG says
  9. word! double thanks to herc2000 for exactly the same thing! the Aquamans were graded tighter than 's hatband, and packaged stiffer than...than...something really stiff. i'm drawing a blank on a good analogy. but kudos most def to herc2K
  10. once again, Flaming_Hertfordshire comes through with some sweet BA Marvels for the kid! of course, he sent it registered mail, and i had to go send my lovely wife to sign for them since the USPS is only open when i'm at work, across town...but s'all good! Way to go, guv'na! You're all that, and a bag of fish n' chips
  11. you guys are sure that 141 is a Cardy? i mean, CGC has been known to misattribute cover artists. it sure doesn't look like Cardy to me...
  12. nochips is most definitely the man...nice Bat-books!
  13. Craig Flessel, Alex (Xela) Schomburg, Lou Fine, LB Cole, and Carl Barks. not in that order. not sure what order, exactly
  14. you're paying in advance next time, mister! one chance is all you get! actually, if you're going to pay more than i asked for again next time, i might let you wait a month before sending the money! big ups to Darth for being an all around stand up guy, once you remind him about his debts....
  15. I'd say $10-15 give or take. I think I got mine for about $5, and would call it VF-. Way undervalued IMO. A true quality series. i agree...mostly because i have three or four issues
  16. Andy Dufresne, teacher boy. you can take the boy out of Lenoir, but you can't - ahh, you know what i mean
  17. As for me, i today received Avengers Annual 7 in 8.0 plus Avengers Annual 10 in 9.4 - both Raw - for less than $15, including shipping! thank you, eBay! woo frigging hoo
  18. good Lord, you are hopeless. simply hopeless. don't, i repeat, don't ever buy a Gerber guide, or you will be flat broke in a week. see you in Gboro, holmes
  19. much thanks to Flaming_Hertfordshire for a well-packed and expertly graded set of books no one here but me would have any real interest in. veddy good show, guv'na!
  20. don't anyone let them tell you that Shrunkenhead can't package a pair of Trades, because my man packed them with enough bubble wrap to bury a midget in. Excellent transaction all around. Thanks!
  21. not always. just 99% of the time. and i agree with Jeff, with the caveat being only if the book is slabbed. unslabbed, i can see the appeal of having two covers, but slabbed? nah
  22. yeah, somebody give me a couple grand so i can buy that one. i'm good for it, honest
  23. 24. stupid question; you're looking for contemporary titles, i take it... FF 292. i will say there aren't any in the Hit Comics run, so you can take that off your list, if you're searching cover-by-cover
