  1. I don't know much about Thibodeaux's signature, but yours appears like the other examples out there. But on his sig, I'm just guessing because I really don't know.
  2. It's generally accepted that his wife Roz Kirby did a lot of ghost-signing for him, especially towards the end of his career. On all the signed "Last of the Viking Heroes" books out there, the Kirby sig looks like one of Roz Kirby's proxy-signatures. So while unfortunately your sig isn't a real Jack Kirby sig, I still think it's a cool book.
  3. Good news - the sigs on your Captain Victory look authentic. Very cool. Bad news - the sigs on your figure look like forgeries. Unfortunately, eBay has a lot of bad actors faking their sigs - I'm assuming you picked it up off eBay.
  4. FYI - Twincities Comics just announced a Michelinie signing. https://www.facebook.com/twincitiescomics/posts/3991394714204182
  5. 1. The Stan Lee doesn't look like his signature. 2. The Jack Kirby doesn't look anything like his signature. 3. Signing comic books was very different back before Kirby passed away. Other than the Dynamic Forces books ghost-signed by his wife, Kirby rarely signed covers, he never signed in sharpie, and he never signed books that he didn't personally work on. Stan Lee, sure - but not Kirby. 4. A huge number of raw Lee and Kirby sigs on eBay are fake. Several con-artists are regularly churning out fakes. 5. Common sense. If it was authentic, it means someone took a beat-up no-value Marvel Team-Up comic book to stand in line at a con or shop to get Kirby to sign it, then stood in line and paid money to get Stan Lee to sign it. If this was fake, it means someone took a beat-up no-value Marvel Team-Up comic book out of a 25 cent box, scribbled a few fake sigs on it, then sold it for $137.50 on eBay for quick easy money. Which do you think is more likely? seanfingh is 100% correct. Tell your best bud to get their money back. It's fake.
  6. So I've been schooled - I was wrong. CGC is not mislabeling them. The third printing G.I.Joe #21's have the symbiote-Spidey head box on the front cover and the Captain America "reach for the stars" ad on the back cover - and a "third printing" mark on the first page. But collectors have been finding a handful of G.I.Joe #21's with the symbiote-Spidey head box, Captain America back cover, and NO "third printing" mark. I don't know what you'd call this - another printing or a variant or something. Since they're not marked as reprints, CGC is simply slabbing them as-is. I suppose we could ask CGC to mark the label somehow as a variant or something, since I'd be interested to see census numbers to see how many of these are out there. More info here- http://www.generalsjoesreborn.com/2020/05/the-mystery-of-g-i-joe-21-2nd-printing-solved/
  7. Ugh. Yeah - another third print that CGC mislabeled. Unfortunately, CGC seems to miss these regularly - here's another mislabeled third print that sold on eBay- https://www.ebay.com/itm/Marvel-Comics-1984-GI-JOE-21-CGC-8-0-VF-White-Pgs-1st-Appearance-Storm-Shadow-/164391452418?nma=true&si=1tU4d1RWLjJHddGIf5R6eb6m0yE%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  8. Actually, now that I think about it, Xenosmilus, I think you might be right if you count Stan Lee's last comic book writing credit that he did as a regular monthly comic book as a full-time Marvel writer/editor - and not as a limited series or back-up story.
  9. Catman's right - I think your googling is off. Post that date just off the top of my head, I can think of Stan Lee's 80's Silver Surfer stories, Ravage 2099, the Stan Lee just imagines for DC. I could be wrong, but from my googling-
  10. All of my books signed on the interior got blue labels. Sometimes they identify the sig on the label - sometimes they don't. Here's one where they say who signed it. The grader's notes say: "celebrity name bottom of page(s) 1". But here's one - same sig on a different book - but doesn't say who signed it. The grader's notes say: "Name written on 1st page in pen". I've been told whether or not the blue label identifies the sig depends on if the grader can easily identify whose signature it is, but I don't think CGC has ever officially said.
  11. In Norway, they were published as "Tommy og Tigern" - color reprints of the strips, along with scattered other comic strips. https://comicvine.gamespot.com/tommy-og-tigern/4050-11140/?page=1 The one I have from 2007 is comic book sized. Even though it's only in mid-grade shape, I've thought about submitting it to CGC just because it's so odd.
  12. Not Stan Lee. Those are Gerry Conway. https://www.myslabbedcomics.com/SigneeSearch.asp?sid=221&sig=Gerry_Conway

  14. Whoa. The logos on the Cobra Officer and HISS Driver are perfect. Nice.
  15. Bought an IH181 CGC from Kobra65. Received it today - quickly and very safely packaged. Thank you, David!
  16. I dunno - the sig kinda looks like the Bernie Wrightson books I have. Looping B with the bold vertical line in his last name. There can't be that many people faking Bernie Wrightson inside books. I lean possibly real.
  17. I bought a graded book from Adam in the last VCC. He shipped it promptly, very safely packaged. Recommended!
  18. Great thread. I'll post my most unusual CGC SS Star Wars book- Colin Trevorrow was supposed to write/direct Episode IX: Duel of the Fates. He signed this book in June 2017, three months before he got taken off the project and replaced.
  19. I've been happy with the times I've used Trinity. They've cracked two books for me to get a second sig - both came back the same grade. But you're taking a huge risk cracking a 9.8. They could do everything perfect and a CGC grader on that day might catch something. Guess it depends on how lucky you feel.
  20. 1-9 were decent stand-alone stories. 10-19 is a good arc with memorable characters. But in my humble opinion, 21-50 jumps out in my mind as the "best". Silent Interlude, Storm Shadow, Zartan, the origin of Snake Eyes, Freds/Crimson Guard, Destro & Firefly, Ace vs Wild Weasel, Billy, Cobra Island, the Soft Master, the Pit, Springfield. And the most memorable Michael Golden and Michael Zeck covers. But even after, you can find some fun twists and turns. Cobra Civil War, Trucial Abysmia. And if you're really looking for fun, watch as Larry Hama is forced to weave some odd Hasbro toys into the narrative. Serpentor? Sure. Battleforce 2000? No problem. Python Patrol? Okee doke. DEF? Why not. Star Brigade? Ninja Force? Transformers Generation 2? Eco Force? LOL.
  21. 100% fake. Here - this is Turtlegirl1999's eBay sales for the last three months. Notice anything suspicious? https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=&_sacat=0&LH_Sold=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=91436&_fss=1&_fsradio=%26LH_SpecificSeller%3D1&_saslop=1&_sasl=turtlecrazygirl1999&_sop=12&_dmd=1&LH_Complete=1&_fosrp=1&_ipg=100&rt=nc Almost like the dealer has a never-ending supply of cheap Stan Lee signed comics on low-grade comics. Almost as if they're constantly churning out new fakes. MBDando - contact the seller and get your money back ASAP.
  22. Fake. Stan's sig changed a lot in the last few years of his life when he was doing a lot of signing, making identifying real unwitnessed sigs difficult. But the letter construction and slant in the pictured example are all wrong. Unless it was CGC witnessed, or it comes with a Stan Lee hologram sticker, it's most likely fake. If it was bought off eBay for super cheap, then it's definitely fake.
  23. Crumble? YIKES. Didn't know that could happen. But both processes work - I just prefer peroxide since it doesn't require gloves to prevent skin burns. The clear wrap technique was something I found online when reading about guys using salon 40 to whiten their old SNES systems. They would apply the stuff, then wrap in clear wrap.
