  1. Well if you remember when the 90 s Kubert stuff was originally released, xmen were marvels top property, the 90 s xmen cartoon was on the air , the xmen action figures were on top of all of me and my friends Christmas lists , and there was about 45 different x-titles. Speaking of 90 s xmen imagine the numbers Jim Lee xmen pages would hit if they came up (both uncanny xmen and xmen ) heritage has some results from 10 years ago , and prices were pretty fierce back them
  2. I hear you, I was just looking for a comparable piece from around the same time period , you are right about the movie being responsible for the crazy jump in price. Is there any other 90’s pieces you can think of with similar significant events taking place on them that have hit high numbers recently? Have the death of superman pages ever been up for sale from issue 75?
  3. I honestly didn’t even know it was up there. Was it sitting around collecting dust up there for a while? And at least now we have some sort of an idea of what fmv could be since it was listed and no one purchased it at that price
  4. And it was in 2014 the cover sold for 10.7 k at heritage, at the last clink auction the Perez infinity gauntlet page sold for just under 9k when in 2014 it also sold on heritage for 4 k .. let’s just hope that everyone has their $$ tied up with Christmas or Kwanzaa or Hanukkah or festivus to keep the price low.. on the plus side since auction is taking place on comicconnect.... that means extended bidding and no sniping!
  5. Where was it listed ? And sometimes things kind of slide on the market under peoples radars and sit around for a while for sale on what ever site as opposed to when they are in a (featured) auction and everyone knows about them and starts hyping them up on the msg boards
  6. I honestly have no clue where the price could land, definitely 5 figures , but could be 20k as easily as 10k . But I m in the same age bracket as you so I’m guessing it will be a bunch of folks our age going for it.
  7. I am in the same situation, a dealer I’ve purchased a page from has a few nice pieces I’d like to add to my collection also , however all these killer pages have been coming up for auction .... I think “not allowing oneself to look too closely” is the route to take!
  8. @SquareChaos anything catch your eye from this auction?
  9. Agreed x 2.... the feral wolverine were he devolves into a beast storyline was pretty underwhelming. I suppose that I’m just a victim of “90 s nostalgia” with this piece , it was a big deal to 11 year old me when all this originally happened, as wolverine was perhaps the biggest character (for me anyway) back then , and it took place durring the hey-day of the 90’s xmen cartoon also.
  10. Yes back to that...... so I realize I’ve been going on about that page in wolverine 75,,,,, but I shall re-ignite that topic to get back to auction pertinent items http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=707911 Since it has been a while since I read the “ fatal attractions “ story arc I was wrong in assuming that was the page that wolverine lost his adamantium, it is not, as this page is part of wolverine 75 , he actually loses his adamantium in the previous issue of the story line (x-men 25) https://middleeasy.com/entertainment/blast-to-the-past-magneto-rips-out-wolverine-s-adamantium/ This page is instead , a flashback page bringing readers up to speed as to the events of events that took place in xmen 25.. It’s still an amazing piece, just not the original page that he lost his adamantium
  11. I have sent an email to some of the Ottawa dealers and collectors of the images and serial numbers and listed your email as a contact person (gf got your card at fan expo) between me and @porcupine48 we should have the Ottawa area covered ...
  12. Not necessarily, there was just another thread like last week involving a stolen asm 1 7.0 , and X-Men 1 (3.5 I think) where the thief went and tried to sell them to another area shop owned by a board member and long story short, the books were recovered.
  13. I’m down in Ottawa and will keep my eyes open! Very sorry to hear about this
  14. As always, great read! Im always pumped when it lists that you be posted a new article in my notifications !
  15. I feel your pain, there's been a lot of stuff coming up for sale / auction lately , I think that the only way I could hold off on participation in any given auction , is not to look at what's being offered. Being that oa are one of a kind pieces, I find it easy to justify to myself by thinking "if I don't get this now, when will I ever be able to get this again?" . The problem has been that has been happening at every auction lately. The struggle is real!
  16. Best of luck in your hunt ! I'm going to employ the same strategy in this case and keep the page I have my eye on in this auction close to my chest also
  17. Same. After reading your post I went back to try and discern what I actually want to take a legitimate shot at... and I believe the verdict is 1 page .. also the Robert Bailey stuff is quite nice, I met him at a con a few years back and his work is great, I picked up a boba fett / slave leia piece and have it on the wall ... if anyone is curious about his stuff, I would highly recommend it the Ron Lim galactus fisticuffs page is at $700 already
  18. Well things seem to have gotten off topic, I propose we return to speaking about our beloved hobby ; we each have our beliefs and opinions on the 'other ' matter and let's leave it at that. on a lighter note I did make a phone call to Mr. Anthony Ma today over at head office to try and get him to lobby the seller of the wolverine page that I have been going on about , to allow for time payments on the piece, so that I can compete against some of you folks with war chests that rival Scrooge mcducks vault. I'm unsure at this moment in time if my attempt was successful. How ever the rolling of quarters has already begun. And I'm contemplating tabling the idea of switching from celebrating Christmas to celebrating festivus (Seinfeld reference) to my girlfriend, to alleviating the purchasing of gifts, in order to clear that cost from my budget also.
  19. I'm with you, my point was just that being charged with 'THOSE' crimes is akin to the scarlet letter in today's society , innocent or not . And note that I'm not making any judgement as to wether or not he is guilty of said crimes as it's not my place
  20. I second that the book was outstanding, I was actually sad when I finished it, because I had finished it , and couldn't loose myself in the golden age of the tales of dc comics any longer
