Congrats again on that run. (Maybe a silly question, but any special reason why your goal wasn't #11-20? ...you just like the cover of #10?) Even 1/3 is pretty impressive. I have a few myself, but all below VG. Are there any that are particularly tough to find? For real. I'm always fighting off temptation on those Marvel Mysterys! Still haven't given up hope on a decent copy of #40 or #44 someday...

NearMint, I'm envious of you being able to play in those waters! As I mentioned awhile back, I'm looking to get some of the early Superman books myself...would ideally like a #3-#11 run as well as a couple of the #12-#20 issues...but it will certainly be a slow process given my budget (it's rare for me to drop more than $200 on a single book, so I'll need to choose my purchases pretty carefully). Do you have any collecting goals these days as far as Supermans & Nedors, or do you just wait for certain high-grade books to catch your eye?

Oops, that was me. Finger slipped. But seriously, it's a shame about the reddish stains on that one, as it really brings down the eye appeal on this otherwise pretty book. That is one eye-popping price for a book with that defect to have reached, even as rare as it is. Wonder if the new owner plans to have it cleaned?

Re the 21: yep, what he said! I have an Action #19...it looks terrific from the front with bold color & gloss, but no back cover & the front cover is detached. Are you guys counting books below 2.0? Either way, will try to scan & post it at some point.

Thanks for the kind words on the #10, folks. Linmoth, that is a great Suspense #7! Another underrated cover that I've always liked, & I'm sure the cover reds & yellows really pop in hand...that's a beautiful copy.

In honor of that insane full run of Suspense Comics on ebay recently, here's my copy of Suspense #10. Spine is a bit chewy but cover has rich color and gloss, looks way better than grade in hand. I just love this cover! And when you think about how #10 is actually one of the less-sought-after covers of the run...well, that's a pretty friggin' amazing run, wouldn't you say? Anyone else got any Suspenses to post?

Sounds like a good list, Nikos, and happily an attainable one I would imagine. I'd eventually like to find both ASM 20 and Detective 400 as well, though if they're grails for you then I'm guessing you're looking for higher grades than I am. Do you have a target grade range for each? I'm about 80% done with my SA Spidey run, but ASM 20 is one of the odd issues that always eludes me. I've found that the light green cover tends to look kind of cruddy or tanned on most copies in the VG range, and I haven't found a 20 with quite the balance of eye appeal (high) and price (cheep!) that I'm looking for. So, always on the lookout. Best of luck on your list!

Wow, beautiful #22! That is on the short list of my favorite Shuster Action covers; I'd love to have one someday. And yours presents much better than grade. Congrats!

Allow me to be brief:

Matt, I can't believe you haven't started on Timelys yet. Try one...you'll be hooked! I have Marvel Mystery #33 (Japanese attack NYC cover) and #50 (insane Schomburg WWII demon/samurai cover). To answer your question above, the stories aren't quite as graphic as the covers, but they are still pretty entertaining with that classic Timely mix of innocence and cheerful violence. They're kids' stories, but well above average for GA storytelling in my opinion.

I'm really hoping to score a nice GA Superman at the Javitz show. I haven't bought one since last summer...starting to get the shakes. Sweet books, Matt!
