However, I went to through it a second time and this time I only selecting the CCS fast track service and added it to the cart. I than went through again and added the same comic, this time selecting only CGC with non fast track and added it to the cart. In this situation both services are listed in the cart for the same comic.

Maybe thats your solution but I would double check.

Thanks.. I'll try that.. it seems weird that it doesnt let you do it.. i'll call and confirm before I get a package ready to go do this.. I just dont think i want to wait 72 days for pressing and then another 30 for grading.. i can do 60days total.. but.. wow.. not sure i care for the 100 day option :)

  2. Can you do fast track pressing without fast track grading?    it doesnt appear that you can.. I wanted to cut the CCS Pressing time in half but to do that it appears you have to do the same thing to the grading?? I cant seem to find reference to it being a requirement to do both, but it appears that this may be the case.

  3. I checked the Adventures of Superman #596 in the census but there is no note that it was a Recall copy due to the 9/11 events and the 2 buildings that are in the book that are on fire.

Can that be added to the label?   Something like

Recalled by DC for 9/11-like Images

Thought I would post an update - CGC has confirmed it is a 1st print so the slab is mislabeled AND they have agreed to reholder for free and cover shipping both ways!!!

Just thought since I see a lot of negative customer service posts all over the place, I thought I would take the time to say that CGC is really handling this well!!

pfff.. i had a Detective #82 come back in a cracked slab .. called them and they offered to do the same thing.. I was sending another pack to grade so I told them not to worry on the ship back but I did appreciate how good they were on fixing it quick.

  5. I have a Marvel superheroes book (the 1st Squirrel Girl one.. but its a squarebound issue.. but it has some waves in the cover that could use a pressing.. its in really good shape otherwise.. but.. since ive never done any book pressing :) typically just send books and take what i get .. Im wondering if i should try it.. or not on a few that i have that it could or would help..

But not sure if squarebound books are 'pressable' or if it messes up the squarebound..

    These books have been added:

Nightmare on Elm street   + Nightmare on Elm Street Special Gold Foil

    Spider-man 1990               +Torment Trade Paperback Diamond Distributors

Quantum and Woody (2012)  + Quantum and Woody Retailer Edition #1

The Jae Lee Variant for G.I. Joe #1 is from the 2016 series, which that set has not been requested or built. I have added it to the list of new sets to be built.

Thanks!!  I couldnt figure out about the GI Joe.. but thanks so much .. i know its like trying to add words to a dictionary..!!

  7. anyone that knows.. how long does it typically take to get sets updated?   I know the hurricane probably blew some stuff outta the water (so to speak) but is there some sort of normal schedule (ie updates go in every other month on the 1st week or something?)

    ;) just wondering..

It looks as though it was folded on the inner front cover above the bottom staple. I don't see that happening after production...

Maybe the previous owner attempted to fold the back in her cover to match the front inner, and that's how the tear happened idk

I am the first owner. It is just as it came from the printer.  Only half of the back cover is folded

Outer cover on my phone looks 7.5/8.0

Inner just hopefully it doesn't get an "incomplete"? They do with MVS marvel value stamps, I don't know what was cut out...don't own a copy.

The inner cover is complete.. but its torn.. i could fold the outer side up and it would be just a folded copy of teh full cover.but it must have gotten caught when it hit the book and thus it got doubled.

So if you notice the picture where my hand is, thats where the fold on the back stops and is torn but the rest of it is to the right.. somehow the front didnt get torn but did get folded up underneath.

  10. I know this one has some issues.. the 2nd cover is not the greatest.. was folded and torn somehow during the process.. but.. the outer cover looks pretty decent.. though theres one spot.. at Todd's signature box.. that I was trying to get an idea on..   Let me know if these pictures are not good enough to grade by and i'll pull out the big camera :)   I dont think a press would help as the cover is 1/4 folded and a press might 'make the impression come through.. unfortunately it appears to have made a skuff mark on the back of the book as well probably cause it was fatter when it got picked up..

Probably going to send it either way .. but.. :(  kinda wanted a good guess of approx grade...

  11. seems to me that if enough people turned him in for copyright infringement .. or selling fakes as it no where says its a fake.. only that its a 'cover' no where does it say 'reprint/copy/facsimile etc... thus.. its really not legal..if i am not mistaken..

  12. OK :) additional question.. and I guess i may have to go to "ask CGC" for this.. but what about SS books..

Say i get a sketch cover (which i love to do :) ) and would like to get it pressed.. Im guessing that is available, though i guess ive never really checked when i did any... but wonder what if any issues it might have with the recently sketched cover..

Sorry I dont do my own pressing .. kinda like i dont do my own electrical work.. think maybe if i did it wrong.. id be... well shocked... in either case.. though im sure i could work on junk comics.. which wouldnt really be the case in electrical work..

Thanks for everyones responses.. I do like this forum as you do get lots of different perspectives.

  13. I have some books id like to get signed, graded, but.. Some may benefit from being pressed.. is there a 'best method' of doing this..

i.e.   Do you have the book pressed first, then signed and graded? (which seems like it would take a long time), or do you have the book signed, then pressed and graded..  does the pressing have the potential to screw up the signatures?

I also like to have sketch covers done.. so same question with those in mind..

Anyone had any experience with doing this either way?

  14. Set                                       Book to Add                                                                Cert Example

Nightmare on Elm street   + Nightmare on Elm Street Special Gold Foil            1231910004

    Spider-man 1990               +Torment Trade Paperback Diamond Distributors    1231910002

Quantum and Woody (2012)  + Quantum and Woody Retailer Edition #1           1231910003

    G.I. Joe IDW                              + G.I. Joe #1 Lee Variant Cover                               1575775004

I think that GI Joe is the right set.. hard to tell sorta...

    THANKS! :)

  15. I have always been a big fan of getting sketches done to frame and hang up from my favorite artists.. so the "blank' convention sketchable covers i think is cool.. I have several.. including some with sketches ive had done, but there's characters Id like to have done, but want the right book for.. anyone know if someone has compiled a list of these??   I know there was a 2nd/3rd print kinda of list so maybe theres one like this too..    so far i Havent found one.. but could list a couple dozen that ive seen / have etc if anyone wants to help compile one.

BCW doesn't carry true acid-free backing boards - only the coated-on-one-side regular backing boards - so it doesn't make sense to use their backing boards with mylar bags.

yeah i had not checked on the fullback style boards.. as im not archiving much .. trying to get rid off stuff currently or converting ti to slabs..

  17. I have .. "some" books that i think probably should be run through a pressing of some sort.

    My questions are:

The quick press i think if i understand correctly.. is just a press.. and the 'regular' press that takes much longer included some 'mild dry cleaning ?? ie removal of easy to clean stuff like maybe dirt/pencil marks, etc..?? right?

the other question is.. does it REALLY take 40 business days? I get theres a lot going on etc.. but seems like if there is an 8 week backup, maybe we need an additional person/press :)   Just wondering.. i dont want to send a book off and have it missing for 8 weeks for pressing and then 7 weeks for grading (if you dont do fast passes) unless I know up front.

    THANKS!!!

  18. BCW has mylar 2mil bags too but dont carry the "fullback" / Mylites brand.. they do their own.. I think anyone can buy from them?? I have a dealer account mainly for our shop but.. if needed i can see what it would cost to drop ship if they dont.. but im pretty sure they do a 'free shipping' over $80 deal??   I really like their normal bags/boards etc.. havent ordered the mylar's yet but will probably end up with some for different stuff.   let me know if you have questions I can help answer.
