  1. My question was for you, too. How much do YOU believe that the original art cover to Maxx #1/2 is worth?
  2. Just a quick question... What does everyone believe that the original, one-of-a-kind, hand-drawn by the artist cover for Maxx #1/2 would be worth? Take that price, divide by 10. That's probably a fair guess on a comic with 10 copies.
  3. Kudos to arzach42 for a nice stack of goodies for my "other publications about comics" shelf. (thumbs u

  8. #51 is the 2nd Sin City First Sin City is Dark Horse Presents Fifth Anniversary Special.
  9. 25? That's something a greedy seller might say, or a proud owner wanting his baby to be "rarer". There are already 74 on the CGC Census. Hundreds of Venom black exist. Try finding Venom white.
  10. According to some, Wolverine became popular immediately after Hulk #180. http://thatsmyskull.blogspot.com/2006/06/wolverine-conspiracy.html
  11. Variant? There was a variant cover. Acck, I need it. What was this from? Was it published at the same time as the original or later? S-V The Black & White #1 is from 1997... Spawn #1 was from 1992. It's a variant from five years later, if there is such a thing. Come to think of it, the Black & White #1 doesn't belong in a discussion of "Copper Age".
  12. Yep. That one is on the CGC census. http://www.cgccomics.com/census/grades_standard.asp?ComicID=73610 Looks like it showed up in the Jan. 2008 update. I've taken it off my text file.
  13. Hey Donut! It looks like you're under-calculating the 2007-2008 price increases. From $225 to $250 is a $25 dollar change, but it's an increase of 11%. (Not 10%). $225 was the old price, you have to +11% to get to $250. Similarly, you have from $30 to $40 as a +25% increase. It would be +33%. ($10 increase, $30 starting point = 10/30).
  14. Just as an FYI... I keep an updated list of the top grades for Marvel 30- and 35-cent variants on my site. (thumbs u http://www.gregholland.com/cgc/HighestMarvelPriceVariants.txt

  16. When I was a kid, I collected baseball cards... they were my first "serious" collectible. The first baseball card shop that I ever visited was called "Skeezix". This is my first pre-GoldenAge book, and one of the sixteen pre-1930 books that have been CGC graded (current census). How many Platinum books are folded & stapled like a modern comic?
  17. Nope... these all came from the U.K. (already graded)
  18. Kudos to Anfield Fox for going above and beyond the call of duty. Bomb-proof packaging on a heavy lot from the UK to the US.
  19. On a related note, I noticed a G.I. Joe Comics Magazine (Marvel) listed in the Standard Catalog of Comic Books... with extremely low sales numbers. (I believe it was a 1980s series) Anybody seen any of those? (Particularly any numbered higher than #10?)
