Nice Tick #2 uncut.  There are only about 200 of those and they're really hard to get a hold of!
On another note... Did anyone notice that Liz Vassey is in the Season 2 of the Amazon Tick?  She was Captain Liberty in the Fox sit com version of the Tick.  I won't say who she is, but I thought is was cool that she's back in with the Tick live action again.

I'm not sure when the last time Ben did a comic book cover so I'm pretty excited to add this to my collection.  (I bought this with permission from the misses... but now I need to be good for a while. )

Just finished binge watching Amazon's Tick - Season 2.  Was very excited for the possibilities for season 3 and who some of the new characters might be.  (I won't say in case anyone hasn't watch the season yet).  And now I look forward to this years free comic book day in a few weeks!

This just arrived in the mail today!  That rare eBay find (at a super low price) just months after I posted on several sites I was looking for one (and had given up on ever owning one).  Vic, if you're #2 yellow ashcan ever ends up missing... um... it wasn't me. ;-)

Here are my trophies from SDCC 2018.  #1 Ashcan - gold, #2 Ashcan - red (still hoping for a yellow #2 some day), #2 "special edition" ashcan - used for in house purposes.  I already had these in my collection but I got them signed by Ben then CGCd.  As all of them are kept in mylar since day 1 I was hoping for a 9.8 or even a 9.6.  I'm not sure how they grade ashcan editions - but I'm still happy to have them in my collection.  On the other hand, I had a #1 special edition and #2 special edition that I got signed and they were graded higher than I had hoped for.  So it's all good and evens out in the end.

    Hi Mollie,
I would like to have these items added to set "The Tick: Ben Edlund Original Set".  Attached are 3 of the 4 I am recommending.  These are all pre-production photocopied comics used to promote the Tick and to see if there would be any interest in producing the actual comic.  They were sent to distributors to give to comic books shops to get feedback.  I have a site documenting Tick comics (www.TickComics.com) and work fairly closely with New England Comics to make sure the site is as accurate as possible.

Set: "The Tick: Ben Edlund Original Set"
Comic: Tick #1 Ashcan (Gold).  (100 were made - date: 1988)
    CGC #: 1951207001

Comic: Tick #2 Ashcan (Red).  (50 were made - date: 1988)

Set: "The Tick: Ben Edlund Original Set"
Comic: Tick #1 Ashcan (Yellow).  (50 were made - date: 1988)
CGC#: I do not have one of these but VSNDesigns does.

@mtlevy1 what!? That’s my favorite Tick page! I love that joke.  If you ever want to trade for it or sell it please let me know. (I’m assuming you’ll keep it but thought I would just mention it). Tink... no my disguise!

For those that also collect Tick toys I just added the action figures to TickComics.com.  There are still so many other Tick items to add.  (Stickers, pogs, plush, meal toys, etc...)

Brian Bollinger reacted to CGC Comics in Are Newton Rings 'normal and acceptable'?
    Thank you for your feedback.

The “rainbow effect” or “Newton rings” are a normal occurrence when two different plastics (which have different refractive indexes) are placed together. It’s what you sometimes see on a smartphone screen protector or on the edges of an LCD screen.

The rainbow effect has been seen in CGC holders since our first-generation holder was introduced nearly 20 years ago. This is a result of the inner sleeve (which holds the book) contacting the hard-plastic outer shell; the two different plastics have different refractive indexes and that sometimes creates a rainbow effect when they come into contact. A minor rainbow effect has always been within our tolerance. If anyone feels that they have a book that exhibits an extreme rainbow effect, however, we encourage you to contact our Customer Service at submissions@cgccomics.com.

Behind the scenes, we are constantly working to improve the CGC holder. Most recently, we have made a slight modification to the inner dimensions of our standard holder to accommodate the increasing variety of comic book sizes and paper stocks. In our testing, this minor modification was also shown to reduce the presence of the rainbow effect for many books. We did not want to share our findings until our thorough testing was complete, and now that it is, we are pleased to report that these modified holders have been fully integrated into our encapsulation process with very positive results.

CGC continues to research enhancements to its holders, including ones that may further reduce the rainbow effect, and we will keep you updated with any noteworthy developments.

    Thanks again.

The top commic (NEC Ashcan) was release at Boston Comic Con (Fan Expo Boston) last summer.  It was limited to 100 copies.  It was an exclusive to NEC.  It could also be considered a variant cover to the 2017 series of the Tick comic #1.  There's a little more information on them at http://tickcomics.com/tick_2017.html
