  1. I received some eBay purchases over the last few days. I've had lots of eBay disappointments, but these books from three different sellers were all great! Advertize in NM- to NM and all lived up to their billing.
  2. I don't know if this has been done anywhere in the 38 pages of this thread (and I'm not going to read them all to find out), but is anyone interested in discussing why they collect ST? I started because Dr. Strange is my favorite character and my focus was 110-168. I have since started buying pre-hero issues and also gained an appreciation for Nick Fury. I just finished my NF 1-18 run before Christmas! I still have little interest in 101-109, 112-3 and 169 on, although I guess I'll pick them up at some point just because I'm a completionist. How about you?!?!?!?
  3. This thread needs a boost. The 58 is really nice as it is hard to find in a nice grade because of pre-Marvel chipping. Mine is probably a VF+, but you can see the pre-MC along the right edge. Yours doesn't seem to have any.
  4. Finally completed my Nick Fury run at a local con:
  5. Continuing on with the duck theme, here is a recent eBay purchase from Flying Donut: This is the hard to find marvel chipping variant.
  6. He's not kidding. I've only ever seen the red once before. My copy is the lime green almost yellow text too. You've got the rare red text error edition! The rare red text error It must be worth two or three time the value of the mundane yellow text version.
  7. Beauty! Really nice colors on that one! Nice to see another person moving away from the "high grade" camp and into the "nice looking" camp. It's really hard to get hung up on the grade thing when you collect golden age or DC silver. As I buy more and more Atlas books I realize that I'm not going to get very far waiting for high grade. Even looking for VFs is tough (and expensive). I've started to focus on fine to VF with as little damage as possible on the front cover. Still not that easy to find, but not super expensive and still nice looking books. Mike
  8. I'm trying out my new scanner from Santa and thought this would be a good board to start. Now that I've got one, assuming I've figured it out, I'll be able to start sharing with the group. Here are three pretty diverse books I picked up recently: Finally finished my Howard the Duck run. This isn't the easiest book to find. I also just realised that the 'All New' above the 30 and 'Page Epic' below the 30 are printed in red rather than yellow (you can kind of see them in the scan). Maybe I'll have to look for another copy that is printed properly.
  9. You out bid me on the 123. I thought I might grab it for cheap. At least it found a good home. Mike
  10. An 8.5 recently sold for $530 and another one had no bids with a BIN of $550.
