  1. A reminder that CGC is not an authority. Unfortunate experience.
  2. The 12-year old you was right. Almost any DD#1 is a treasure. This looks very nice. I'm wondering if a press would make it look much nicer? I wouldn't touch the tape.
  3. I'm no expert, but I would say that, in most cases you probably don't 'need' a press to retain grade. The book is cracked out and then handled by multiple people, so I understand why a press would be recommended. It's very possible that the signer 'damaged' the comic. I wonder if CGC would utilize comic bags with windows if we give 'em to them? Getting more sigs on an SS book is always a risk.
  4. I've only seen people use a wrist-cutter & painter's tape to make their own windowed-bags.
  5. Either bad stitching/glue, or, it's just coming unglued. It happens. Sewn books are usually preferred because it's less of an issue. Your hardcover will likely be fine.
  6. If you're newer to grading, just FYI, this (bolded) means literally nothing. Most comics hot off the shelf are around 9.4 grade. And, yes, grading is very subjective. You're allowed to disagree with CGC's opinion, and I will not criticize you for it. CGC isn't perfect.
