  1. I would go for it only if they're using non-restorative methods to remove the residue. It will increase the presentation of the book (if you decide to keep it). If they're using restoration methods, then the value may not increase for a potential upgrade. Idk if the "5-7 hours" method is restoration or not.
  2. +2 I personally don't want signed slabs. I am deep into the signed comic game, though. I have also seen sigs on the back cover, and quite enjoy that approach. It's an uncommon placement, though.
  3. I've devolved into supplying humor without including my logical reason as to why.
  4. Be more dominant and assertive. It's the CGC way.
  5. I don't think that my older brother ever distributed comics.
  6. Progress: 82/1,000 Frank Miller's Ronin #1-5 Flashpoint #1-5 Superman: Peace on Earth Batman: War on Crime Shazam: Power of Hope Wonder Woman: Spirit of Truth Justice League: Secret Origins Justice League: Liberty and Justice For whatever reason - I have literally no motivation to read anything new (and I own a lot of unread stuff; old and new). These are all re-reads that I know are great. I'm just trying to get back into the habit of reading (period).
  7. Raw comic books always should be king. You can appreciate them for what they are. Collected editions have been king in my household, though, for awhile. Most bang for your buck (unless the covers aren't in the book ).
  8. To further clarify my sentiments: I am only referring to new comic books. Not people who are in the business of selling comic books, buy something Marvel SA for $500, and sell it for $600. What's the point of DC comics being $4 cover price if they're never worth that much? $4 is already a decent amount for a comic book. People don't even know if this character is complete a-double-s or not. The character could suck complete whatever and the comic worth $1 in 2 months. But, the spec drek flippers are extorting people who want to buy this to read it (in its natural form). It's just awful.
  9. People speculating to flip, though, aren't collectors and are impacting the hobby by ruining it (not completely, but heavily contributing to the path). I am not calling you that, FTR. There are people who both collect and deal, but the people who only flip are the problem. That's who this particular discussion pertains to.
  10. Incorrect. You've already contradicted yourself.
  11. If the customer is willing to pay the $5-10, why not?
