  1. Define "not the best condition". You may want to post pictures of them on the "Please Grade My" board, and ask there.
  2. Yeah, being newer myself, the variants kinda me off. I've said it before, that the only variants I like (so far) are the direct Action Comics #1000 ones (there's 9 outside of the main cover, and then 2 foil versions of those 9, so 12 total). Then there's 40+ "store" variants, or whatever, that I couldn't care less about. Variants are a person_without_enough_empathy.
  3. Thanks for the feedback! It's just hard to figure out where to start. Like I said, I picked up Action Comics #957 and Superman Vol. 4 #1, since they're both the first issues of the current Superman stories. I was looking for Detective Comics #934, since that appears to be the first of the DCU Rebirth. I couldn't find Batman Vol. 3 #1, or Man of Steel Vol. 2 #1, either. It is crazy to me that there seem to be 9-10 different ongoing stories involving primarily Batman or Superman. I have a decent amount of hardcover Marvel collected stories, so I'm trying to focus on DC stuff. I don't even wanna get started with other publishers right now lol. I'm thinking about just going back and picking up the New 52 series since they're all finished (I have the Justice League run already). I'll probably try to get into X-Men, too, since that was my favorite as a kid.
  4. You don't think that Tony Stark and Steve Rogers are both going to die..? I'm pretty sure that Shuri was downloading Vision's 'personalities' that weren't relative to the stone - Jarvis, Ultron, Stark, and Banner - while trying to remove it. So your thoughts on that are likely pretty close. I'd personally like to see an end to the non-special human Avengers like Black Widow and Hawkeye. I highly doubt it happens. SHIELD/Hydra will probably come to a close, too (Nick Fury), if they are ending all things Phase 1-3. Captain Marvel is allegedly the new face of the franchise, like Iron Man was. I'd expect her to be a full-time Avenger. IIRC, they cast the kid Harley from Iron Man 3 for an appearance in Avengers 4, likely to attend Stark's funeral. He might be the next Iron Man.
  5. This was the entire point of Zack Snyder's Superman trilogy. People don't relate to Superman because he's, well, Superman. He wanted to ground Kent's origins with reality. Man of Steel was never meant to be "the Superman we know". We knew Superman for 75 years to be what he is. Snyder wanted to tell an origin story and show fans how he became the Superman that we know. IMO it was brilliant. Man of Steel showed him exploring his powers and strength. Gave us a reason why he doesn't want to kill rather than "I have one rule with no good reason" (killing the last of his species). BvS was his struggle with the perception of mankind. Learning to deal with the fact that, no matter how just and righteous his actions are, there will always be another side to the coin that he has to ignore if he wants to be a savior. Zack always expressed that this Superman wouldn't be his perfect self until resurrection. People give Synder flak for BvS - a movie he didn't write, but he did write Wonder Woman, which many see as a great story film... Snyder also wrote Justice League (that Whedon botched). Warner Bros is simply flushing the wrong pieces down the toilet. Snyder, Superman, and Batman are the best parts of DC Worlds. I have no hope for the rest of this cinematic universe now.
  6. This is all new to me, if true. The guy has played Superman, the A-lister of all A-list comic characters, for 3 movies. And he's played him well. If WB doesn't see the value in that... Well, it's obvious to me that they're on crack anyways.
  7. According to the big wigs at Marvel Studios (and Kevin Feige specifically), Avengers 4 is not only the end of Phase 3, but the finale for the collective stories being told throughout all of the first 3 Phases of the MCU. Primarily, that means Thanos and all 6 of the McGuffin Gems, I mean Infinity Stones. What are some theories you've surmised, or heard, that seem realistic to occur in next April's closing film? One of my theories: We all know that The Snappening will be undone in some manner. Knowing the amount of power that it took to make that happen, and the damage its done to Thanos, I think that The Snap collectively took half of the full power that the stones were "born" with to complete. I theorize that an additional snap to undo this action will drain the remaining power from all the stones, ending their story and impact on the MCU. Creating an Infinity Watch or allowing the stones to stay within the MCU wouldn't end anything. Their existence would be an ongoing concern. Otherwise, just summon the Infinity Watch when Galactus shows up and get it over with... I don't have any particular theories on Thanos. I just expect that Thor will probably kill him in Avengers 4. What are your theories?
  8. AFAIK, Cavill doesn't want out. Warner Bros is making the decision to part ways. Why? I have no Frkin idea. Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios wins. After 10 years, I think DC is now dead in the water (to me, at least). They have the best 2 comic properties in Batman and Superman, and they screw it all up by now letting their 2 Justice League actors go. Edit: And, for the record, I love the Dawn of Justice Director's Cut. I think that Justice League could have been great had Zack Snyder not been fired. Joss Whedon has been on-record as saying that Steppenwolf is "one of the worst comic characters ever". They cut too much back story on the new characters. Blah blah blah. I thought Justice League was still good.
  9. As someone, who as a younger self, was somewhat of an expert calligrapher and signature verification analyst... My initial instinct is that this is a forgery.
  10. Milk was a bad choice... Cavill is my favorite live-action Superman, and his character is one of the few bright spots in DC Worlds (or whatever they're calling it). This is almost as dumb as creating another Wonder Woman movie based in the past instead of developing characters like The Flash and Cyborg sooner. Edit: Did I seriously just read that they're considering casting a black Superman..? Wtf?
  11. Dammit, I didn't want to know these things. I wanted to live forever without knowing what it actually is.
  12. You can't really measure Deadpool and Logan against the MCU because of their Rated-R natures. X-Men and X2 both preceded the MCU's existence (as did X-Men 3). IMO First Class sucked. Days of Future's Past was good, though. And then Apocalypse sucked. I hope Venom is good, but I'm very skeptical. At least they did well by casting Tom Hardy.
  13. That isn't why the story is sad, just to clarify...
  14. As an Owner, Employee, or Customer, is it frowned upon to read comics at a shop (that you may not buy)? I've recently been visiting an LCS about a mile from my home. Over the past couple of years, I've dropped in a few times to catch the vibe, another couple of times to see the extent of their inventory, and I've bought some comics the last few times. I just bought a couple of Superman issues I knew I'd be interested in (the rebooted Superman [Vol. 4?] #1 and Action Comics 9xx post-New 52). As a newer customer, I don't want to seem rude or anything. The comic shop I used to visit when I was a teenager didn't have comics open for reading. You bought whatever you opened (I don't recall seeing them having new issues). This place that I've been dropping into recently has tons of monthly/bi-weeklies/weekly new comics, though. Sorry for the really long explanation! I was gonna post another topic for this, but if you can give me 2 answers that would be even better! How can I expand my comic book knowledge and be a better contributor to the site? I'm probably a genius when it comes to the cinematic universes, but my book knowledge is fairly lacking in comparison. So many of you know iconic covers, first appearances, can names issues from a partial cover or a single panel. Where do I even start, and how do I continue to develop my knowledge base?
