  1. Alex Ross did not regurgitate the same artwork. The devil is in the details. Count the number of windows on the buildings. Actually pay attention to the details, have your epiphany, and good day sir.
  2. If you don't see the differences then I cannot help you. It's not the same artwork. All you have to do is pay attention to detail. I.e. the number of windows on the buildings. The distance between his cape and the background. Same idea. Different execution. I'm not wrong because I'm infallible - I'm not wrong because the facts will tell you, in this case, that I'm correct.
  3. Johansson is okay. I thought she was great in Avengers and Age of Ultron, but mediocre in Iron Man 2 and The Winter Soldier. I think her performance reflects the story and direction. I didn't care for her performance in Infinity War, though.
  4. That would bring in the $$$$$ even more, too. (If you haven't seen the South Park episode about this, then you're missing out. )
  5. I would think you'll get at least a 9.0, then. I'm not expert on the effects of cleaning or pressing, though. I usually try to avoid saying it'll grade better because of them. I can see the potential for 9.0, and would guess the clean/press gets it there.
  6. 1. Buy all raw copies of Spawn #1 to create false supply scarcity. 2. Spawn movie reboot releases. 3. ????? 4. Profit.
  7. That's actually a really good point that I hadn't considered much.
  8. 1 v 1 v A Million. These are just 2 books on my radar that I want and can fit into my budget for a big buy this year.. I'm not into mid-grade encapsulated books (yet). I can't afford the GA Superman/Batman stuff that I'd like to own.
  9. Kind of a tie, hence the topic asking for outside opinion. If I was going to read 1 of them - it'd be Spawn, but I have reader copies of both. I'm looking for a high-grade #1 self-title.
  10. I'm looking for White page quality, though. A lot of higher-grade Iron Man 1's are Off-White to White. They're also more expensive...
  11. Makes sense. They tried to make Cap the "face of the franchise" in Phase 1, but Iron Man had won everyone over. Makes sense that they'd try to make her the next face, and someone else (Spider-Man?) will most likely win us over instead.
  12. Contemplating my 1st 4-figure purchase. I've been wanting a Mint Spawn #1 for a long time, but recently, I've shifted my heart towards an Iron Man 9.0 (or higher) with White Pages. I don't have any CGC Marvel or Image comics, yet, so they'd both be the start there. I also don't have any pre-80's. I have a feeling that the board will likely lean me towards Iron Man. Let me know what you think. Personally, I have tons of Spawn HCs, TPBs, and individual issues. I have a few Iron Man hardcovers. Spawn is one of my favorite comic properties, and Iron Man is my favorite MCU character. I'm looking for a #1, and not specifically a 1st appearance (hence not looking for TOS #39), even though 1 of the 2 happens to be Spawn's 1st app. I'm also looking to traverse into pre-Modern books, and this would be a good start IMO. Wondering if I should start now, or just keep following the path I've been on for a couple years.
  13. Are the images pre-clean/press, or after? My gut says 8.5 but my eyes say 9.0 IMO.
  14. It's not the same artwork as the Kingdom Come homage. The Kingdom Come 'chase card' was an homage to the same book. The Detective Comics #27 homage for #1000 is new, though.
  15. I haven't been on Instagram in 4+ years. Send him here into the wrath of my logical fists!
  16. The Action #1 reprint that came with Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition. If you drink enough, you think it's the real deal!
  17. "...conceptual artist to draw cars for the big car companies." Easier said than done... Good luck to her.
  18. I don't know if this guy buys or collects any comics, but: drdrr1967 He's a menace to the playing card community. This weekend, he sent me a message: "I’m a buyer at $100 today. Peace friend." The listing is $195, and I've set it up to auto-decline any offer below $130. Just in case he ever gets into comics, I would suggest blocking him preemptively.
  19. He avoids the General sub-forum in an attempt to make ridiculous posts elsewhere to avoid criticism. FYI - it isn't working. He's getting lambasted elsewhere, too...
