  1. Will the website be the new one we have heard about?
  2. Never. They have to fill column space. And of course, it raises some questions about the prices on some of the OA out there.
  3. If it the one I am thinking of, I liked that page but was busy getting something else so I didn't bid.
  4. Actually, I wasn't referring to the Spectre pages. I was surprised when Clink sold an Aparo PS page for about $450. Then I notced some Batman pages which seemed down a little, and some Aquaman too. Maybe they were just outliers. Prices are mostly up since 2017, but I was thinking there has since been a slight dip since April of this year. There is also more of it on the market lately..
  5. Since the Heritage Auctions several months back, has there been a slight decline in prices for Aparo art, or is it the OA since offered for sale? I've noticed some lower prices on pieces recently.
  6. I was wondering if you had the orignal colored, or a blue-line copy colored for a double-display item?
  7. This is a little off-topic, but this just showed up on eBay:https://www.ebay.com/itm/273580920860 The complete Peanuts collection for sale for $200 The Complete Peanuts Charles Schulz Hardcover 26 Books 1950-1982
  8. Does art really need to be stored in Mylar sleeves if it is kept in Itoya’s and not subjected to much sunlight?
  9. It would have been helpful if the book and page numbers had been listed. The thumbnails are too small to get a good look at the contents.
  10. So 5 years in obtainable plastic bags vs. hard to use and maybe unobtainable bags.
  11. One of them is Robert Dennis, who I have used. Excellent. http://www.agraphicstateofmind.com/comic_art_restoration_services.html
  12. How short is short? I don't know of any bags mylar bags available in that size.
  13. Would regular polypropylene work? It breathes and would be more accessible in bag form.
  14. You can always make a digitial copy of the original and save the stat for future generations. If someone wants to partly "unrestore" it, which I think is nutty, they could. Is this a hobby about art or the comic production process? Unless it is the latter, I would almost always go with the former. A good restorer tries to leave as much original material as possible. That's good enough for me.
  15. It comes off in the cleaning process. I believe it was not avoidable.
  16. I understand that. And for that purpose it makes sense. But some of the prices paid in years past are pretty high, I think. They still seem high for the work, but they have come down a little from those levels in some of the recent auctions..
  17. Coollines Artwork, the brothers/owner, among other names.
  18. Which indirectly goes back to my initial question: besides nostolgia, what is it about his published art people like? Yes, he could manage large groups of heroes, but it also seems to be part of what any professional artist should do. I hadn't realized it before I had seen the JLA splash above, but he seems to have been good at the lost art of drawing small, tight buns. That's a valuable skill, and rarely seen in this age of large buns. Why he has Wonder Woman standing like that strikes me as unnatural. His line work was simple, but not particularly interesting in my opinion. The characters in some of his pieces have unnatural anatomy laid out. So, what else justifies some of those prices I have seen besides nostalgia?
  19. I did collect JLA; and in fact, still have them. But even then I thought the style was not well suited for the adventures or content. Someone who drew with a finer line and more detailing for a more lifelike appearance, I think would have been more sensible. I gather he was a nice guy, but that doesn't mean I can't dislike his style on that book.
  20. I think his art looks like it would work best in a kid’s coloring book. Nothing wrong with that, if that’s your preference.
  21. It seems generally better now. I am using a different machine and the problem isn’t occurring. It searches more quickly now, too.
  22. I ‘m thinking JLA, maybe from his arguments with Hawkman?
