  1. 8 days after you posted, I found this hiding on eBay.
  2. It was a shock to me. I thought it would go for over $500, but definitely not over $700, based on what a raw one sold for on eBay about a year ago.
  3. What are the most common Marvel 35¢ price variant issues? It seems to me that I have seen a relatively high number of Human Fly #1s for sale on eBay.
  4. Totally agreed. It is always a thrill to find a hidden 35¢ variant, but finding one in that condition is rare, at least for me. What is really a bummer is finding a hidden one but then having the condition be such that it is not worth (again, at least for me) the purchase price, esp. if it is in a large and/or over-priced lot.
  5. This Tarzan 5 came in the mail today. It was hidden in an eBay auction I won (I was the only bidder). Nothing remarkable about this particular issue, but the condition is nice.
  6. I believe the writing in the ULH corner of front cover is the arrival date, 2-19. If that is the case, given the book's grade, CGC probably would not count that against the book. That is just my humble opinion. There is alot out there written about arrival dates. Following is a link to a thread from 2004 about arrive dates.
  7. Thanks. I was considering a pressing, but was afraid the process might detach the torn piece. I will consult with joeypost.
  8. I would say the book is about a 9.2 were it not for the tear on the spine. Thanks for your input.
  9. Thanks. I was surprised only one other person seriously bid on it, and was ready to bid significantly higher than I had to.
  10. Picked these up recently on eBay. Both were hidden in auction listings. The KCO 209 was a bargain, but apparently at least one other person (a boardie?) spotted the WWT 15.
  11. Found one of the other Kids hiding out (also Shang-Chi and Danny Rand; they were all hiding out separately).
  12. Totally agree. The latest scratched holder I got was a re-holder from the early days of the current holder where books would get wavy. I simply do not want to send it in again. I sent another message to CGC about the scratched holder phenomenon, expressing my dissatisfaction, and did not hear back.
  13. Yes, because for me, the Newton's rings are much more visible than the scratches and distort the true appearance of the book much more than the scratches. It does irritate me that I paid good money for a damaged (scratched) item.
  14. That makes alot of sense. If I have to have one or the other, I much prefer the scratches to the Newton's rings.
  15. That was taken with Samsung Galaxy S7 camera. High end smart phones have excellent cameras. Low end smart phone cameras are not quite as good.
  16. Here is one I just got back from CGC on 09/28/2018. Again, the photo only shows some of the many scratches. I notified CGC and suggested they look into this issue. On a brighter note, there were no Newton's rings.
  17. These just came back from CGC. The FF 187 should be single highest graded once the census is updated.
  18. Here is the answer, "Any damage or issue like this would need to be reported to us within 14 days of receipt. It appears that it has been more than 14 days since these were received. You can send the books back for a reholder after that time but there would be a $15 per book charge." I have looked at other CGC graded books I own and have seen this interior scratched holder phenomenon as far back as 04/2018.
  19. What was date of grading? Did/are you contacting CGC or requesting re-holder?
  20. Thanks. The five books I have like this are not consecutive, so I have a feeling there are more like them.
  21. I sent them a message, but obviously will not hear back until at least Tues. In my experience, CGC has always been good abut this kind of thing.I jut wonder how many books got encapsulated this way.
  22. Here is one example. The scratches cover the whole surface, but are easiest to capture in a photo on the black background.
  23. I just got five books which were graded by CGC on 08/03/2018. All five have alot of scratches which appear to be on the inner holder, but definitely are not on the outside of the outer holder. Has anyone else experienced this? Thx
