The number of seemingly paid for grades should be concerning to them too but that can never be admitted to. It’s only the label color that can be acknowledged so I think you’re right that it will be the only thing addressed if anything at all.

I’m no attorney so I’ll defer to you but it seems to me that the first sale doctrine wouldn’t even come into play since the retailer, Black Flag isn’t selling these a second time. This is the first sale. The first sale does not refer to Marvel selling to the retailer otherwise the whole doctrine would be moot since obviously Marvel can sell to whoever they wish and bind them through contract.

CGC already addressed this possible defense with their first statement. I’m paraphrasing, ‘we know exactly what these are.’

That used to be the standard. Now to improve “efficiency “ no doubt, they probably only list large defects. How many are graded 9.4/9.2 and above? I bet they can eliminate 50% of their graders notes and increase throughput. All about the bottom line.

Have they had legitimate store exclusive variants? And do we know the grade distribution of those books?

Thank you for highlighting this. There must be a secret tier where you can pay extra for 9.9 or 10.0 grades. Maybe we can ask them what the pricing is on this. If it can’t be bought then how many YouTube subscribers would I need in order to access this tier.

I missed the staining on the Adventure comics so I was off far on that one. Other than that I Was happy with the round considering I went through real fast. Thanks a lot @CGC Mike this was a lot of fun and the first one I participated in. I’ll definitely try to get in the next one.

Finally sent mine in. Good thing that 4 bullseyes comment can’t be me because I need all five of them.

I picked up a few more today. The Spawns I picked up for cover at an LCS I went to waiting for the flea market to open. They were sitting in overstock boxes without bags. I should really go back there and look through more thoroughly. All the other were 25% off.

All of these without a board were $1. The X-Force 116 is a newsstand to boot. There’s a bunch more Invader Zims. The Uncanny 268 is the JC Penny variant. That was just dumb luck though. There’s more Transformers variants but nothing spectacular.

Can you post pictures after the clean and press? It looks very nice to me especially if you’re able to clean up some of those color issues. It looks better than my copy. As it sits 8.5/9.0.

Agreed. These were really tough for me and I basically have to get all bullseyes from now on for me to have a chance.

I’m sure the deep shadow along the top of the cover is part of the same defect. No way to know for sure it affects the interior too but it’s a good bet.
