Wow, I think my first post was just last page in September about the mediocre copy I bought off ebay and sent to get graded via my LCS. It's been an interesting few months, getting impatient and unsatisfied with my weak entry into collecting actually valuable comics and buying a much better IH181, then the inevitable GSXM1 and then finally just stumbled into my pie-in-the-sky comic I never thought I'd actually own in a condition I could stomach looking at on the wall, X-Men #1. Much thanks to the various boardies responsible for all three, I'd have never bothered doing this via the impersonal and aggravating process of ebay.

When I recently got into graded books all I wanted was a low grade Hulk 181 with the MVS missing. Then I figured I'm not just a Wolverine fan, I love all the old X-Men, so I got GSXM1. Then I figured for sure X-Men #1 was out of my reach so I'll leave good enough alone. This is way out of my league but I know I say this in every thread I've been buying from lately, but seriously, no one tell my wife!

Kind of tough for people to move books while attachments are moving servers this weekend, but here's a bump and a question, are there any more X-Men books still to be listed in the near future?

Just giving this a bump. I'm hoping someone gets those two X-Men books because if no one bites and you end up lowering the price I know I'm gonna end up with both. If that does happen then I'll have to explain to my wife that my 7-ish raw #142 traveled back in time to when they had those older labels to be graded and then rose to a 9.6.

What the hell, to both She-Hulk #1 and X-Men #40. Disney will get around to throwing She-Hulk in the MCU eventually, right? I was only a fan of her during the Byrne era really, but I've yet to get any 9.8 in my collection. Mainly an X-Men fan and I know we just missed Halloween but that'll be great to display in my home for future Octobers. Shipping is $15 total right? Don't have a photo with me but I picked up an 8.5 from a board member recently and I love it. I told myself I was only gonna get a crummy Hulk 181 on ebay and get it graded, then I found this staggered frame that holds 3 slabs so I figured I'd do the IH181, GSXM1 and NM98 for now. I couldn't even wait for the low Hulk to get back before just yesterday bought a 7.5 from another board member. Maybe one day I'll be able to swap the Deadpool for a low grade X-Men 1.

Not that he needs any more kudos but a whole mess o' books arrived today and they were about as secure as you could possibly ship anything. I think I spent a good 10 minutes just carefully retrieving the comics. Great deals, thanks again!

I guess I should ask just so I keep an eye out, is this one of those sales where you'll be adding stuff as you go along so you just save my stuff in a pile to see if I want anything else added in later, or will you send the invoice for what I've already picked out? I would say yes. I didn't expect to pay as much as I did for a ratty copy with the MVS taped back into it, but I did. I got in that mode of if I just bid a little higher than I wanted at the last second, then I'll win the auction. But my frame of reference for what I "should" pay was based on previous similar copies sold on ebay, which I'm sure were all won by guys like me bidding just a little more than they expected to "beat" the other people bidding. Since joining the CGC forums I have much preferred people just giving me a price for their book and deciding for myself if I want to pay that much or not, then I get the book with no hassle and I pay them less than I would have spent on ebay, but they receive about the same because ebay isn't taking a huge cut.

My crummy 4.0ish Qualified (MVS cut out but taped back in) is still at CGC getting graded but since I picked up that 8.5 GSXM1, it's just going to look so crummy in comparison when I display them together. I'm thinking I should really get in the market for a 7.0-7.5 soon. Definitely don't want to pay ebay prices though, so if any of you IH181 hoarders want to dump a copy at a fair price let me know, otherwise I'll probably post in the WTB forum soon. I kinda wanna get Iron Fist 14 too just for that Wolverine/Sabretooth combo.
