They did, I spoke with them and they didn't feel comfortable selling it. They intend to reach out to CGC again to find a solution. -
TMNT #3 Variant Cover.... OR NOT.?.?.?

BTW, I am not at all trying to throw any shade on the seller, they are just selling a book according to what the experts have said. I'm just wondering if there is something I missed? -
How did CGC get this wrong? Or did they? Is this a con? All I know is that the CGC label says variant, but that is not the variant. Am I missing something? On ebay as "Rare CGC 9.6 NM Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #3 + Variant 1st Print 1985 Tmnt" I am genuinely curious as to what is going on here. If I am violating any forum rules please just let me know so that I don't do it again. I didn't link to an ebay sale, which I pretty sure is a no-no.

Insuring books that are shipped TO CGC. Who? How?
AmbassadorSlip replied to AmbassadorSlip's topic in Comics General
What's with all this fly to Florida talk? Family vacation? How much money is all this gonna cost me? Lost time from work? I'm sorry, but anyone suggesting flying to Florida as an option is kinda outside of the realm of possibilities I live within. Anyway, books were shipped via USPS registered mail, fully insured. I did have to peel all the plastic tape off the box and re-package with that brown paper tape due to their rules, but it was worth the trouble. I'm 99% sure the books would have reached CGC via plain old Priority mail, but who wants to bet on that 1% probability? -

I can afford a colonoscopy too, doesn't mean I want to get one. Some of us don't like taking all that time out of our life, nor flying, nor dealing with the public. If I have to fly all the way across the country for such a simple service, I'll just pass. -

I know, I know, I'm an anti-social weirdo, people have told me. Well, actually, those people had fur. BUT THEY TALK TO ME! -

I have never, and will never, fly to a convention. I've never actually been to any large size comic convention, I couldn't care less about that part of the hobby and I would never even consider flying to a place just to have CGC do anything to my comics. I know that's something many people accept as part of the hobby, but I don't. I'm also one of those strange people who doesn't like anyone, not even people involved in the creation of a comic, write or draw on my books. So all that standing in line for hours stuff is lost on me. I don't do the whole celebrity worship thing. -

I've read all the advice and I decided to go with three smaller boxes, the first of which is going to just get basic priority shipping insurance, the other two I will have to go to the USPS office and pay for registered mail to get the higher insurance value because pirate ship will only sell me a label with up to $5000 in insurance. As far as insuring my whole collection, I don't have that much left, I've been trading up as it were, and the books I have for reading, such as my CrossGen collection, are just not high value. But, I'll think about it. My high dollar books are in a safe deposit box at my bank. I'll check back tomorrow and let you know how USPS went. -

I am thinking this is the best option. My only hesitation is that I've heard that USPS is very difficult to deal with when it comes to claims. Which I hope would not be necessary. I've got four orders in this box and I've decided to break them up and ship each one separately. -

Insuring books that are shipped TO CGC. Who? How?

Thanks, yeah, way too far to drive. There has to be a way that people insure books when they ship them to CGC. I mean, I doubt many packages get lost, but still, I'm not shipping a $14,000 book unless I know it's insured. -

NO, I don't live in Florida. I can break the shipment up, but one book alone is $14,000, I live in Santa Fe, NM where CGC never comes, and I need this book graded. -
I am trying to insure a box I intend on shipping to CGC with $40,000 worth of books in it. I called CGC and they suggested these options. https://hwinternational.com/us/ https://shipandinsure.com/ https://us.brinks.com/ https://www.malca-amit.com/ I tried calling some, and the one I got through to was Shipandinsure.com, who told me that I had to first join the North American Collectibles Association. I've never heard of them, don't know what they are. The woman I spoke with, Elaine, was nice enough, but I didn't quite understand the fine details of the hoops I had to jump through. First of all, I had to give detailed information about three "Trade references", not sure what that means. Then I had to pay a member ship fee to join, which I began doing, but the final page wanted me to enter a card number for a fee THAT IT DIDN'T EVEN SHOW THE AMOUNT OF, as seen in the image. That was a deal breaker. Maybe I just don't have enough knowledge to be anything but skeptical and suspicious at this point. How do people get high dollar, let's say $10,000 and up, comics delivered to CGC with insurance?

I just heard a YT content creator talking about Frankenslabs, and they suggested that those slabs should be sent in to get re-done. What is one, and how do I identify it?

WOW! I remember some of you, I don't remember what the arcade was, but I spent most of my fun time in the cover guessing games. Was that in a section called the arcade? Is that what y'all are saying? What happened to the corral after I moved on? I just hit all those links that MyComicShop posted. I don't remember the exact flame wars, what was this feud between "Hepcat & Stu" about? I don't remember either of those names that well, but then again it's been many years and My memory has been spent on other things. I do remember Charlton guy, and we always got along. I also remember how awesome it was buying comics online back then. CGC was fresh and new, auctions were still going on ebay, and the civil war over pressing was in full effect. I guess that war was won. Anyway, I remember some of your names, glad to connect with you again. On that note, is this the only comic forum now a days? Or is there another one?
