  1. 7.25 and I'd measure it left to right. Is that book trimmed? Prolly not, but It can't hurt to measure real quick. Still learning about pressing so I'll say that I'd get pro advice.
  2. Lest ye thinketh I be not of the modern man G.I. JOE #1. Anybody remember how valuable #2 was for like decades? It wayyyyyy out valued #1, but then that changed somehow. I picked up my first #2 on the racks at a convenience store and sold it a long time ago BUT, I was super bummed because I missed #1.
  3. I'm gonna throw three up real quick and then after work I'll pop on the thread and tell y'all the wrong grades and exactly what you should NOT do by telling you what I think you should do.
  4. X - MEN #20. Sorry, I'll come in here and grade some of other folks books soon. Or rather, misgrade, but I figure I'll throw this up while I have a quick sec.
  5. Well, I guess I was mistaken. Geez, a natural 9.2 is found out of the 7 known copies. That's odd if you ask me, but I sure would love to own that one.
  6. I was a construction worker for a long time. People, especially if they felt comfortable with you, would say "I'll help with some of the easier stuff, hauling and such, and we'd say, well, it's a thousand for me to do it and fifteen hundred if you help. I want to press either way, there is something else, two things actually, that I need that press for, neither have anything to do with comics or books. I figure I'll suck at it at first, but I want to try my hand. But, it'll be a while before I get to that, I have my hands full with all sorts of stuff right now. How much for your pressing/cleaning service and do you ship them from your place to CGC for me?
  7. Wow. I sometimes forget how many people have awesome comics that are outside of the normal stuff. That's a real beauty. Hard to believe it is a 2.5
  8. I remember some of those names from the past I think. I will def look into this. At the time, I am not sure what the difference is. Thanks for the suggestion, and the names.
  9. I'd like to know more, maybe even see it. Did you slab it? What condition is it in? What do you do to protect it?
  10. Woops, I posted three comics this day and must have gotten confused. I'm sending this one for a press submission, and will let them see what they say. Still going to be pressing myself as well, but it will be a while before I am confident enough to press something like this myself.
  11. I gave this book a 7.0 grade, and I am def. pressing/cleaning it.
  12. I'm more interested in keeping this lil piece of history around than a return on my investment. But, that all depends on how much I would put into getting it restored. If I slab it, it'll just rot inside the slab.
  13. I believe I did a page count, but now I'll have to check just in case. I'm prolly slabbing it at the very least, but I may also get it restored. Only one on the CGC census if I am not mistaken, and it aint a 9.0. The main thing I would like, is to slow it's deterioration and preserve it.
  14. I couldn't grade this, I just said 4.0 - 6.0 assuming it cleans and presses nicely. Anywhere in that range is fine by me, even a 3.0, so I'm just moving it forward with that knowledge. I will send this one for possible pressing/cleaning, if they approve.
  15. It is, and I have to really study and be careful because I wont even think of any experiments or the like, on books that have real historical value. Rare silver and gold etc.
  16. I don't expect the cleaning to take it up at all, or by maybe .5, but I want it to present better and to preserve better, and prolonged exposure to dirt will age the book faster.
  17. I graded this 4.0 and am hoping to get it pro cleaned, but not pressed, if that is possible.
  18. Ahhhh, the dissenter, steps outside the norm. Now I have a variable to consider. Thanks.
