  1. Oh, and I love the FF but not many else do and it just doesn't translate well in any other medium I think. You got maybe 300 cool books and that is it.
  2. When I got back into comics about 10 years ago I made a list of 10 books I wanted and went to LCSs looking for them and just figured they would fall into my lap no worries. Many great books did, ASM 300 NM for a dollar, X-Men 101 VF for 16 bucks, Brave and Bold 54 (???) (Teen Titans) for 80 bucks but none of the big books did. If I had manned up and went full CGC Boards dealer in high grade on the big 10 I would be
  3. Don't mess around on GSX1, I did and regret it. Go for high grade slabbed time payments. Mine is a hundred dollar beater and I can't even look at it. How many people even collect FF these days? There will never be a good FF movie or cartoon etc..... You will be able to get a nice copy raw no problem anytime. So get both if those are the books you want. Sell some drek and mow some lawns. $$$$
  4. Japan paper? Wheat Paste? New staples? Pics of inside covers? Still got some spine roll to squish out and it will look even better.
  5. Imagine being employed at Marvel as an artist in the 90's after the Image guys left. Brrrr.. With deadlines and bad stories. What about bi-weekly books. That would suck. The only thing I didn't like was when artists would think they were so good they could now ink themselves or just stop penciling altogether and just go straight inks. I'm thinking of Byrne at the end of FF or Perez after Teen Titans. Still masters but just so rushed.
  6. Waiting sooooo long Waiting sooooo long I slabbed 2 books through Paradise
  7. Once there was this kid who Subbed his comic books through god knows who And when they finally came back His hair had turned from black into bright white
  8. I hammered that GL down because of the bottom corners. The cover must be super glossy! I said 6 on each.
  9. Awesome! Never seen that one before. Is the cover hanging on by a thread? And was Jean the Strangler born with 2 right arms?
  10. Sweet book! Good minus? Not sure what CGC would say with a detached centerfold. But not worth slabbing I think. Great reader copy!
  11. High stakes game.... what if the spine splits and comes back way lower. There is a reason 9.6 and 9.8 is $$$$. I would be happy with a FF48 to just have a good wrap. Is this just to make money or do you want that book in 9.6?
  12. I am assuming every box of staples shipped from Acme Staple Co. was "dipped" so that the boxes could sit for years and thus all our book's staples have that galvanizing protection. Ever sand blast a car part? The rust isn't a patina forming on top it is the metal itself dissolving. Those freshly shocked staples would look so bad the graders would die laughing.
  13. Supergirl, Wonder Woman or Lois Lane whenever she drinks a super potion or has a super dream! (Not my copy but I have a nice one.)
  14. I'm saying the cover looks what... 8.5ish? Not sure what the hit would be for the scribbles. I'd put it in mylar with a little note in back. Now go get 121!
  15. Rex's Adult Books. Pulled a Silver Age Green Lantern from there as a kid for 10 cents. My friends asked why I'd buy it and couldn't grasp the epic-ness of a guy drawing almost 100 consecutive issues.
  16. Tear into your collection and find your favorite 100 books. Now go try to buy your favorite page from each one. That will get your blood pumping!
  17. Pictures make the page quality look cream-tan. Worth getting it graded?
  18. It's 180 or nothing for me! But seriously 181 was like $3.00 for years and years. It was even 25 cents for awhile.
  19. Strange Golden Age book for 20 bucks on the LCS wall that I couldn't pass up.
  20. Jeeze even the 1st issue of her Bronze Age series barely has her on the cover.
  21. Supergirl in the Silver Age was always small and underused on the covers. Such a shame! Always in a corner or off to the side.
  22. I am a comic scrounge and will pass on almost anything unless it is a buck or a super deal. I have even passed on a free Hulk 181 if you can believe it. Among my 60 boxes of dollar books there is a box of my super scores that I pull out from time to time and marvel over the fact that I own these books and found them for so cheap or got hooked up by a bro'. (I always hook up my friends with cheap books too!) I also know how many of these books were printed and how many cases sit unopened in warehouses around the country. I would be very bored if I just went "Alexa: order me a Hulk 102, and a 103, and a 104...."
  23. I was like "It has to be sold.... no, No? Really?"
  24. My first buy on the boards! Lois Lane 10 from Dale Roberts holiday sale. Also threw in some sweet date stamp books from my boxes for ya all.
