I am curious as to why the owners of these items should care about whether or not it irritates you and why you are irritated with how other people spend their money?

The owners shouldn't care about my opinion.  I was only curious if there is a point where an artist should consider a customer request disrespectful to the original artwork.  I believe there is, and in this particular instance the line was crossed. I'm not irritated how money was spent on the sketch, I'm slightly irritated that a customer would choose to ruin such a rare comic book and more so irritated that Eastman would do this to the book. I posted to see if others had a similar perspective on the matter.

Why are you getting irritated over something that you are not planning to buy or own then?

You're right, I should be posting out of curiosity and shouldn't let things like this agitate me, but here we are.   This video may shed some light on things:

Out of curiosity were you in the market for one that was unsigned ?

Not at all.  Today hasn't been my day to be honest, minor things are irritating me and for some reason I've decided to be more vocal about them.  Over the top sketches and poorly placed signatures have always bothered me, but when it's on a more iconic book, it agitates me even more.  I'm not an artist, even though I do sketch an occasional subpar piece of art from time to time, but I question if at some point an artist should be concerned if these things will harm a book aesthetically and consider refusing an owner's request.  If anyone knows of a comic artist that would refuse these types of requests please let me know because I'd probably become a big fan of theirs.

  3. I saw this on a facebook post. At what point should an artist/creator/writer refuse the request of customer? I feel Kevin Eastman should be ashamed of himself for doing this to this TMNT #1 1st Print. I knew he was a sellout and signs far too much stuff, but this really grinds my gears.

You want me to stay on topic?  Like trying to decide how many man-breasts you want to see on a cover?

I wish that Plastic Man comic didn't have the polka dot guy or his breasts on the cover.   I like how you looked through my past posts to try to find something to criticize me over. I'm used to things over on the CBCS forum, where personal insults result in temporary suspensions.  I couldn't care less about staying on topic, but constant insults and bickering back and forth is quite annoying.

  5. Here's some gocollect data but it would be on the very low end because of the trimmed edges. If there was only slight color touch which could be removed I could see paying over $250 for it but I agree with @shadroch estimate above for that specific book.

  6. Has anyone confirmed that Jeff Meyer, CEO & Founder of GoCollect, is also involved and bought several video game databases for the sole purpose of shutting them down to hide population data?  Also, is there any possibility that the CGC Promise Collection Pedigree's authenticity will be investigated? If the information contained in the video about Heritage is true, it seems as if it would be warranted since they exclusively sold that collection and CGC appears to be a major business partner of Halperin's.

  7. I have a Plastic Man #33 CGC 7.0 for sale for $1150 OBO which includes shipping via USPS, UPS or Fedex depending on your choice.  Shipping within the US only.  I know the price is high, but there's limited sales data and a low amount of copies in the CGC census.

Payment via Paypal Goods & Services

Returns: Accepted within 30 days of purchase. Buyer pays original cost of shipping plus return shipping.

Please request additional photos if you'd like.

    Thanks for looking,

    James

  8. I'm still seeing copies of West Coast Avengers #45 sell for a premium even though that character is lame and seems highly insignificant and overpriced compared to the thousands of comics you can buy from the previous decades. With that in mind, this book may increase in price substantially since there are plenty of crazy people out there overpaying for books.

  9. I would sell it on ebay, there's no need to have it slabbed. I think with all those creases and spine ticks it will probably fall within the 5.0-6.0 range.  It's a newsstand copy, which sells for more than the direct edition. I'd list it for $200 obo and I would take multiple pictures of the front, back covers and interior but not post a specific grade. I wouldn't sell for less than $100 though.

  10. @tedsaid I saw the deleted post with a screenshot about a message from a banned member and assumed it was something in regards to you. It's definitely crazy, you're like that olympic sprinter of the comic book forum world. Sure you broke the rules, but in this day and age the rule is a bit ridiculous.
