  1. Welcome gaute. I ran over and looked at Comics.org and did a search for Dennis. Can you enter the Dennis and the Bible Kids series to the database? As you may have noticed when you read the thread that Joe and I (who both own one) feel that issue number 10 is very rare and I know many comic readers consult Comics.org and it might help us locate another owner. Flying Donut remembers seeing a third copy, but I imagine that many reading this thread have never even seen or knew it existed.
  2. Yep that's it. Am I right about that not being a Wiseman cover? Also Billy mentioned that it's a reprint. Wish we knew for sure the Original printing issue number. Will your index cross refrence that sort of information in the future? Mica
  3. This looks like a first date gone horribly wrong. "Hey honey lets park next to that giant egg shaped structure and then dig a hole with this shovel I brought along."
  4. And just for more fun. Here's a small cartoon from the inside front cover of Dennis and Ruff # 2 (which is semi-related) I'm sure some other forum member can come up with a good cover scan of Dennis and Ruff # 2 (I got so carried away I forgot to scan the cover, but I'm sure Joe or someone has a crisp clean copy) in case someone wants to be on the lookout for this awesome issue. This was the back-up (last story) in the book. Mica
  5. This was from Dennis and Ruff # 2. The cover is not Wiseman (at least I don't think so, but I am untrained). Enjoy, Mica
  6. Way back on page 28 of this thread, Jim Wiseman talked about Ruff taking a bath. "Another DTM fact, we were the owners of Ruff the dog. Ruff 'found' our family when we lived in Los Angeles. I think that was around '55. Ruff lived with my father until somewhere around 1966. Look for a story that shows DTM trying to give Ruff a bath. That was Ruff and me." Is this the story you mentioned? If not I don't think anyone would mind glancing at it. It's been forever since I added anything to this thread. Of course most of us meager collectors are standing around in amazement at how wonderful this thread is. Many are probably afraid to jump in and say anything. Mica
  7. Sorry for the condition, but It's good reading. I have heard of sellers referring to this book as a pre-cursor to the radio active spider that bit Spider-Man but I feel that that's a stretch. And using that to "Talk Up" a book is unnecessary. If you don't want to see a giant spider threaten our civilization then mentioning Spider-Man isn't going to convince you either.
  8. This one's been done earlier, but I thought some people might like to see the first story.
  9. As most of you know I am new to the Boards. I've collected for years but have never participated in "fandom/conventions/boards". I stumbled into this thread and haven't got to look at hardly any other threads. This one is so entertaining. that before I know it I have to leave. When Marvel took over Dennis books did they cheat by using older Marvel artwork. Now look closely at this Thor book from 4 years earlier. Just kidding of course. But I wonder how many of you will go and consult your own copies of Thor 277 just to be sure. Mica
  10. A slingshot vs. an URU Hammer. Margaret could be lady Sif.... Joey could be Loki (black hair...it's a stretch). And Mr. Wilson could be ODIN. This is the book the above image came from. Dennis 151. Notice how this guy has invisible legs below the knees. The Dennis comics need to be re-classified as Super-Hero related. Floating knee guy, Thor wannabe's, Dennis' strange mutant ability to cause "MENACE" wherever he goes. His dog is a krypto copy of Superboys dog. Joey is the kid sidekick. Hmmm.....
  11. Dennis 147 shows how to make your own stain glass windows for Christmas.
  12. I know this may be in danger of getting the thread off subject but in my copy of Dennis 122 there is a non-Dennis story by someone named ED HOFZIGER? I don't know much (anything) about these characters but for some reason the art looks strangely familiar. And of course the book it came out of.
  13. Here's page 1 and 2 of Dennis and the Bible Kids # 10. Enjoy. By the way this did not hurt the split spine any further. I held it very carefully during the scanning. I didn't risk scanning any more though. It's safely back in the bag with board. Notice the water coloring and the wavy panel borders.
  14. I am brand new to this... This is my first post ever. I have Dennis and the Bible Kids # 10. Mine has the same side splitting defect that was mentioned by FlyingDonut at the bottom of boards-page 14. I've had mine for many years so this is obviously a different book. I read it once way back then and never noticed the split until I saw this thread and decided to investigate my stash of books. Yep, its still attached and looks good but there is the split. I hope I am able to post the scan correctly. The split is not noticeable unless it lays flat in it's bag, then part of the back cover starts to relax and lay flat.
