  1. Super 8 has a larger frame image which provides a clearer image when projected plus many Super 8 releases also have the sound feature.
  2. A friend of mine is giving me his Super 8 edition of King Kong on two 400 reels. I'm already going to upgrade my Creature from the Black Lagoon Super 8. I found the longer 400 series version - in 3-D!

  4. I'm really looking forward to participating in this grading contest for the first time. Offering up a copy of my latest book, an authorized biography of British actor Ralph Bates, for a prize. I'll personalize and sign it and ship it worldwide on my dime.
  5. So in this age of Blu-ray DVDs I went out and bought a NOS Elmo Super 8 sound projector lol! I don't plan on buying a lot of films, just some horror films and classic comedy to play once in a while. You really can't beat the hands on experience of loading a film reel into a projector. I used to own a 16mm projector years ago but settled for a Super 8 now as the costs are less involved. Included pics of two horror related film reels I picked up. P.S. I also buy Blu-ray DVDs ;-)
  6. Never did this before but it sounds like a lot of fun so I'm in :-)
  7. I usually upgrade by a half to one whole point. Sometimes I get lucky and get a good deal on let's say a 6.0 and can upgrade to a 6.5 for little to no money after selling the first book. But I always sell the book before buying the new one.
  8. Dug out another werewolf film poster from my collection - The Beast Must Die (based loosely on The Most Dangerous Game and Ten Little Indians). Peter Cushing is in this film as well and the end of the film features "the werewolf break" in which viewers are encouraged to guess which one of the guests is the werewolf.
  9. One of the reasons I eventually combined my love of horror films and books to write three so far biographies of actors known for their horror films.
  10. Another enjoyable werewolf film was Legend of the Werewolf from 1975 and starring Peter Cushing. I have the cool day-glow UK poster in my collection.
  11. 1981 was a great year for werewolf films - besides American Werewolf in London there was also The Howling - was just rewatching it on Cable yesterday.
  12. I still have my copy of this book from when I was a kid. This was my introduction into horror movies.
  13. Got to move these books so last price drop before off to eBay: FF#50 CGC 5.5 $225 FF#77 CGC 8.5 $100

  15. My father bought most of the early 60s Marvel comics and remembers specifically having Amazing Spiderman #1 in his collection - his mother threw them out when he moved out. He also told me there was an old lady in the neighborhood during the 1960s who would buy comics from the kids for 2 cents and a lot of the kids sold their books to her after reading them.
