  1. I've never seen a comic this badly miswrapped. And not only is the cover miswrapped but all the pages are crooked as well (maybe that's normal on all miswrapped comics?). There is a bottom staple. It appears to have pulled in and it doesn't show itself until page 3. Any guesses to a grade? Thank you in advance!
  2. The cover looks pretty good except for a little dimple near Spiderman's foot, and in the right light you can see some odd vertical lines. I'm not sure what the lines are (hopefully they show up in these scans). They don't look like printing creases. Maybe some sort of warping? Any thoughts? What would the grade be without pressing? Thank you in advance!
  3. I'm not sure what to make of this. The comic is pretty rough, and the spine is a mess! The spine and staples are actually intact with only a few little holes, but it looks as if someone once tried to color over the spine with a black marker. Any guesses of a grade? It is even Fair? Are there any restoration options worth doing? Thank you in advance!
  4. This comic looks really nice but there are some flecks along the bottom. These aren't holes or tears, the cover is intact - the ink is just missing. What type of grade would this be? Thank you in advance!
  5. This has a couple of little "bends" in the upper right corner and a 3" crease in the lower right corner. Thanks in advance!
  6. Any thoughts? The cover is really nice but there is a slight fold (subscription fold?) running down the center. The comic has been stored flat for decades so the fold very feint and hard to see. It is more noticeable on the back cover. Not sure if it's worth pressing. Thank you in advance!
  7. Thanks for the feedback. I'm new to all this so I had to look up what "purple label" means. I'm still curious - if I were to try and sell this (such as on ebay) could I at least post it in "Good" condition - obviously with full disclosure of the felt tip maker damage? Is there ANY market for Silver Age books with this type of damage?
  8. I need help with this one. The cover looks pretty good, but someone attempted some really bad amateur restoration. It looks like they took a black felt tip marker and tried to draw over the black line along the spine. The felt tip line runs up and down almost the entire length of the book. I actually have about a dozen Detective comics from this era that have noticeable ink line restorations, or attempts to color in small stress lines over the black areas. Is there a good rule of thumb for grading these? Does this type of damage automatically drop it down to a specific grade. Thank you for any feedback!
  9. I have about two dozen old Batman and Detective comics from the 1950s. Someone attempted some bad amateur restoration by using a black felt tip marker - they tried to draw over some of the edge lines and dark areas on the covers. Aside from the restoration ink damage, most of these comics are in the VG to VG+ range. What does this ink damage do to their value and condition? Thanks for any info.
