Congrats! I was able to get mine last year at C2E2 from a vendor on the last day, he gave me a decent deal since I also had bought another book from him. It kind of sucks how long it has been taking Tynion to release issues. If he would stop with all of these other side projects, maybe we would be much further along with the story.

Issue #36 is out this week.

He’s said the intends to end the story at issue 75.  I hope he goes back to the well for more or it’s going to be a rough stop.

  2. It looks like a never-before publicly seen (or sold as far as I can tell) TWD 1 9.9 has shown up in a ComicLink auction.  This is officially Cert number 17 of 26 known 9.9 examples.  Happy Bidding!

  3. Here we go!  Another 9.9 has shown up on the radar in the ComicLink sale.  This one was not previously documented so is officially 9.9 #17 (though I have partial numbers on an 18th).  Get ready to break out your wallets.

Sorry, I should of been more clear. The ones that I have slabbed are:

    • #6 (9.8)
    • #7 (9.8)
    • #8 (9.8)
    • #9 (9.8)
    • #10 (9.8)
    • #25 (9.8)
    • #27 (9.8)
    • #33 (9.8)
    • #53 (9.8)
    • #61 (9.8)
    • #100 (9.8)
    • #193 (9.8)

All of the rest of the books are raw and I am missing about 50 books total from having a complete set.

It would be awesome to slab the entire series. When I got back into collecting comics, TWD was the one series I was set out to collect and then of course I got sidetracked. I'm also a ASM, Batman, and Spawn fan.....so you can only imagine how much I have gotten sidetracked. I bet the amount of money I spent on some of these other books, I could have finished up this collection along with having #1-5 in 9.8's. Taking a stupid detour and should of stayed focused.

I'm like you, and hopefully my kids can enjoy this stuff down the road.

I was fortunate when I got back into collecting in 2017 I only did TWD for 5 years until 2022.  That definitely helped me make major progress without being sidetracked.  It also allowed me to jump on good deals like runs and multiple graded books when the opportunity presented itself.  I put forward a pretty tough goal and I stuck to it.  Now I just have to track down 5 books that don’t come around very often and the wait is painful.

While many that have been following this thread for as long as it has been active probably already have this book, but yesterday I was able to pickup TWD #19 CGC 9.8 at Fan Expo Chicago. I traded one of my Secret Wars 8 which was a newstand + mark jewelers in a CGC 9.4 along with a small amount of cash to one of the dealers. I could of sold the SW8 myself, but being able to trade for one of my modern day grails was worth it. Now from the big books in this series all I am pretty much missing from the collection is #1-5 which I hope to get over the next few years.

I’m a massive fan of 19.  My favorite cover from the series.  I thought about adding an Adlard sketch but I’m nervous something bad would happen.

This is a great question because I do for a couple of special issues. I keep them on their own shelf and with a moisture absorbing bag near them.

I never even thought about transference.

Why is a firesafe bad? (If there is a short answer)

Someone found the old post and put a link here.  Check it out.

The chemicals that prevent fire protection leak through the bags and slabs.  There is a gut wrenching post out there where a dude with a Hulk 181 9.8 had the staples completely rust and disintegrate in a couple of years.  He had to have the book removed, he got staples from a trashed Hulk 181 and he got it regrade 9.8 green label.  My high value books are at the bank as a result.

  8. I’m looking to buy a TL-30 safe for my comics and other valuables.  I’ve seen the treads about avoiding fireproof safes but this will be for burglary protection.

I’m going to ask this anyway to get a group consensus even though I know the conservative answer is to keep them apart.  I’m considering storing my firearms and comics together in the safe.  My concern is that I shoot a lot and bore cleaner has one heck of an odor.  It’s designed to break down carbon and other fouling and it works wonders.  The smell alone could transfer to comics so I’m thinking I would have to seal up the books (all will be CGC graded.

Is anyone storing guns and comics in a safe?  Ideas to protect the comics?

    Very unfortunate.

I'm guessing by the item it was a younger person?

Did this happen anywhere near street cameras?

With some detective work you may yet retrieve the item.

What makes you think it was a younger person?  Guessing by the item?  I’m in my 50’s and this is the primary title I’m collecting.

I wouldn’t be concerned with $2 a pop as long as 9.6-9.8.  132 is first Alpha, cool book to own.

Just saw this on something bigger than a phone.  127 is cool too.  Time skip after All Out War.  First Magna, Yumiko, Luke, Kelly.   All of these were at the peak so plenty out there but 127 and 132 will remain sought after.

:shy: Hello Everyone! Long time no see! lol Hope everyone is doing well. I frequent the forums every so often but never really post much. However today is different as I need some help. Been cleaning out my closet and came across a box I tucked away that had a bunch of WD stuff from when my addiction was only fueled by WD, and I happened upon this T-Shirt that I specifically remember buying with the sellers description as "AMC Cast & Crew Shirt. Only given out to cast and crew members". I am unable to find any comps or specific provenance on this shirt and looking to the WD sleuths here for some help. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks and Have a Great Labor Day!!!

Might need some crafty detective work.  I suggest hitting up some of the really big Walking Dead Facebook Groups (some have up to 60K members) for advice.  Good luck!
