"A Grave Mistake!"
Daredevil 158?
Jerry Siegel published the first ever SF fanzine
What's the name of it?
But was that answer right? Where's the THE_BEYONDER?
Jack
No. The correct answer is (Peter Parker, the) Spectacular Spider-Man 27, correctly answered by you.

I have decided to use this thread to compile an editable list of classic comic covers, as designated by Overstreet and/or CGC. All titles and issues that are post Golden Age are put in italics. Comics that are designated by CGC as classic, but not by Overstreet, are put bold. Let me know about any errors. If you have a graded comic that CGC says is a classic cover, but not on the Overstreet list, post a picture and I'll add it to the list. Who knows, perhaps the registry will wind up using the list as a separate "set." Thanks, --Joe
Iron Man 121
128, not 121
Good idea and good work!

man this place sucks that the mods can't let us decide what we can and can not talk about
Responding to somebody whenever they post with something that is unrelated to their post and/or the thread is called trolling and is explicitly against the rules.

Kudos to Erato for a well packaged box of moderns!

Isn't that all the covers to the Official Marvel Universe Handbook Deluxe edition put together?
That would explain why the characters seem to be in alphabetical groupings.

Uh, no - it's the Forum's list . . . YOU just happen to be on it Even a name change won't help you.I'm not bothered, it's only HIS list...Actually, I think his continued presence devalues the list. This thread has over 10000 views, which means nearly everybody who buys or sells here has likely seen it. We have both sides of the story (which are nearly the same) and neither of you wants to complete the transaction or have anything to do with the other. It just seems spiteful of you to continue to include him on a list of people who may be risky to deal with. He may have done something less than ideal, but does his name being on the list really benefit other board members? That is the point of this thread, right?

It depends on how you define completist. In general I would say no, as there are few complete series I'm truly interested in. But I am working on many short(-ish) runs.

Kudos to sd2416 for 2 shortboxes of sweet moderns (and a bit of bronze/copper). I just wish there had been more stuff from my want list offered (but my wallet is thankful there wasn't ).
Kudos to Wrightson fan for some Hulks, UXMs and JLAs. Tightly graded and well packaged.

Just saw the thread. I'll send TE a PM to spare any drama queen explatation and resolve it. Everything he said is correct, I just couldn't figure out if I had actually sent his package surface or air. I think air may have been abnormally expensive and while at the post office I decided to ship it surface rather than go through the back and forth of emails. I think total value was under $100 for 20+ books(?)
Anyway, good use of the Probation thread. How many strikes do I get before I sit in the corner?
The thread works!
I have also bought from Ed once and had no problems.

How many non-North American buyers are on the boards ? 15 - 20 tops ?
Out of the 100s of active board members I believe it's such a small group that for most sellers we aren't even a blip on the radar...so I don't think sellers should specify that "free shipping" means "free shipping in North America" as it's a given...
Some do, but I believe it's only logical that whenever you see "free shipping" it doesn't mean free shipping to anywhere in the world
Actually, "free shipping" usually means free shipping in the U.S. -- at least if it involves more than a few comics -- and there are many Canadians here. I understand this perfectly well and have no problem with paying a fair shipping price, but still find it kind of annoying to see those two little words that don't really mean what they say.

Kudos to deamentia for great communication and fast payment! Good luck with the rest of the run!

Here's my take on announing sales.
While I would love to know exactly when something I want is going to be available, it's just a dream. Announcements aren't going to help most people much anyway because it's still first come, first served with Mr. ruling all.
I don't have a problem with somebody starting a thread with the initial post just stating their sale terms (payments, shipping, etc.) and giving a general description of what they'll be selling if they're going to start posting the books shortly (like within the hour). I also don't have a problem with the first post only containing a few books even if the seller intends to list 1000 more. There are no guidelines for how many books can be listed in a single post and different people use different formats.
Posting a thread, or responses in a thread, that contains nothing for sale (whether nothing has been posted for sale or everything has been sold) takes up space and helps bump other threads off the first page. The only exception to this is the Probation thread, which (sadly) is needed and has no other appropriate place.

My room is my comic room.
Here is the shelving unit in my closet with its guardian.
In addition to her guard duties, she helps test polybag strength. So far, none have passed the test.
I have 2 more of those shelving units but no real display.

Scrooge,
truly a great room! Looks like a great place to sit amongst friends and talk comics
After seeing some of these rooms, I feel mine is inadequate . Although, I did want something clean and manageable, I think I accomplished that. In order to do a "showcase" style room, I'd have to knock down a wall and make some major changes to the house! That won't be happening anytime soon...
I still have my guest room to work on; maybe that will house all of my statues, figures and art.
Great to see the thread pinned! I have seen some great stuff in this thread and am anxious to see more over time
John
I think just having a comic room makes it not inadequate. It's much better than having stuff piled all over the place. I should know (but at least I got some shelving units at the start of this year).

Kudos to Mikeyriffhard for another great transaction! Great communication, nice packaging and a great deal on a pile of "modern drek" Superman (and some Batman) comics.

I just wish single graemlins didn't count towards post counts (assuming that they do).
See greggy's post count.
Post counts really don't matter to me. They are rarely a good indicator of the quality of the poster's character.
The only reason my post count would matter to me is if I were selling in the Marketplace and people were avoiding me due to my low(-ish) post count rather than my poor merchandise and high prices.
