How's everyone enjoing the new forum-only guidelines? We've got t-shirts, 100-pagers on demand, thumbnail moderns up-the-wazoo, web-site crossovers, want-list solicitations, dealers and newbies galore, and just about every type of huckster in the book . . .
Yeah, and I hear the sun rose this morning and there is snow on the ground here.
The problem is still people not following the rules/guidelines for this forum.
The only "new" thing here is the clarification of the guidelines.

Kudos to bigfiver69 for some nice "reader" horror comics at a great price! But I'm blaming you if I start collecting more horror after this.

Thanks for the positive and meaningful contribution, deathlok.
I believe Arch already mentioned something specifically in this thread about hi-jacking it with insults.
The forum seems to be working well with the new guidelines, Arch.

Kudos to:
-ft88 for some really nice, well packaged DCCP issues
-mikeyriffhard for a huge JLA set and a couple of small X-Men sets, all beautiful books, extremely well packaged

The following guidelines are now in effect. Over some period of time these may be modified or expanded.
As of now, dealers will be allowed to post here on a trial basis as long as all guidelines are respected. This may change if problems occur.
Note that BUYERS AND SELLERS HAVE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR TRANSACTIONS. We will not resolve disputes, and purchases and sales are done at your own risk.
Want To Sell – Threads may be removed for failure to comply, and repeated issues could result in strikes.
1. Books must be CGC or raw only, or items directly related to comics.
2. No spamming. Group your for sale items into as few threads as is reasonable. Attempts to take up front page real estate by creating multiple threads for no reason are not allowed.
3. It must be an exclusive board-only offer. If the book is offered for sale through another venue (ebay, dealer site, personal web site, etc.) then it should NOT be offered here. It should be offered in the Sales Advertising board.
4. Links to outside sites for any purpose involving purchasing the offered books are not allowed.
5. It must list specific books with purchase prices. It is acceptable to bulk price, and/or to note that package discounts may be available, but you must list a starting price that you WILL sell for.
6. List scans or information about the grade of the offered books.
7. List estimated shipping costs, times, and methods.
8. List acceptable forms of payment
9. Prompt responses must be made to buy requests made through the boards (posts or PMs).
10. Threads may not be bumped to the top until a week after they have fallen off of the front page.
11. Thread title must start with "WTS:" and must give some indication of the types of items for sale.
Thank you, Architect!
2 through 9.
10. As already addressed, a week is too long considering most sale threads only last a few days. I voted for 1 day in the poll.
11. Although I don't think adding 4 characters to the start of the thread title is that hard for sellers, I think the implication for posts that don't start with "WTB" is that they are sale threads. However, the requirement for an indication of what's available is great, even if it's only a general description like "mid-grade Silver-Bronze Marvels"

Good idea...I'm going to go peel all the holograms off my copies.
I've done it. If I hadn't been so careless right at the end and ripped that piece out of the cover, you wouldn't be able to tell it ever had the hologram. I had wondered about the holograms since Taste_of_H8red was asking about Wolverine 75s some time ago. I had some X-Factor 92s with badly rusted staples (guess I didn't notice the staples while I was cramming that $30 longbox full ), so I decided to see how well the holograms came off. It's not too hard, you just have to be careful and very patient.
Wow! I had been told that removing the holograms without damaging the cover was impossible not impossible, but it's not easy and would leave behind a trace of glue on the cover. maybe, but nothing you can feel or see under regular lighting conditions
I'm sure there are legitimate manufacturing error copies out there, and I'm sure that CGC takes whatever steps are available to them to determine their authenticity, but if these sell for a huge premium over regular copies, it's only a matter of time before the manipulators go to work.

High grade.
High grade golden age .
Overlooked high grade golden age.
Overlooked high grade golden age for $8 shipped.
It may not be the original printing, but still nice for a ten cent book.
It's a nice looking book.
I hate to say this, but don't you think that right edge might be trimmed?

They actually left just before it was announced (check their profile, last post date, and sig). They may not even know about it. Not that it's even relevant if the book isn't for sale.

Kudos to DKB for the books I bought from him. Very well packaged and accurately graded.

I found CPG when I was starting to get back into comics. After awhile, I found their message boards and lurked there occasionally for a few months. I finally decided to join the boards there, but when I went to activate my account something malfunctioned. At the time, things were going downhill there, so I just didn't bother with it. While I was lurking there, I clicked on a few links to threads here, and that was my first exposure to these boards. Unfortunately, those threads didn't exactly do a good job of enticing me to check out the rest of this place. I started lurking at STL, and after coming here through thread links a few more times, I started actually looking around. Then I finally joined both here and at STL. And now I spend too much damn time looking (and occasionally posting) at comics message boards.

It's the 608 RRP.

What did you think of the new All-Star Batman & Robin by Frank Miller and Jim Lee?
I kinda haven't gotten round to reading it yet - I have no idea how to approach it. It's actually sitting on my dining room table.
So will I like it
That is the question. You'll have to read it. (There is a long thread in Modern about it)
And since a large part of this thread got cut, I will once again congratulate you on finishing the non-giveaway/promo/ongoing part of your collection.
