  1. And here is proof: "West Coast Avengers" That's right...the West Coast was so rare in comics, they had to invent a special title for it, because East Coast is default. DD operated out of San Fran for a while, and I think Spiderwoman did, too....but the ratio of stories that take place on the East Coast as opposed to the West is probably in the realm of 1000:1. Not that it matters in any way whatsoever. Just something to chat about. Maybe its because we had Stan, Kirby, Ditko & trimpe and you guys had Liefeld Who are you talking to...? *I* had Byrne, Buscemas, Trimpe, Totleben, Bissette, Bolland, McFarlane, Art Adams, and BWS...Kirby and Ditko, too (Hunger Dogs, ROM #73 et al) You need to change your sig line. It is a violation of board policy well that didnt take long.. Just teasing ya relax Relaxed here. But your statement makes no sense. What do having Stan, Jack, Steva, and Herb vs. Liefeld have to do with comic book locales, specifically...? But your sigline is a violation of board policy, and needs to be changed.

Figured, that's why a link for those who didn't know what was being referenced. If you have to explain the joke.....

  7. It takes an interesting cat to let a worm barf all over him.
  8. No one cares about Dublin, CA. Dublin, OH is the money Dublin. In fact, no one cares about the West Coast in general in comics. It's always about the East Coast.
  9. That's a little I know right? The heads aren't in perfect rotational alignment. What was he thinking? I made a pun.
  10. You could move to Mendocino. It might be wet enough, but I don't know if it would be warm enough.
  11. I've got topsoil.... Fresh, beautiful, unused topsoil.... At least a 1/10th of an acre's worth... I've got a palm treeeee..... (Skip to :50)
  12. For the reasons stated ad nauseum on this thread, Showcase 30 is most certainly a "key". The degree to which it is a key (e.g., minor key; semi-key; key; mega-key) is for collectors to debate, with the market ultimately deciding its importance. The fact that certain eBay listings might not correctly describe the content of the book or that certain listings engage in sales "puffery" is another matter. Why is it a key? Isn't Aquaman's first appearance in More Comics 73? Showcase 30 isn't even his first silver age appearance... I get it that is a "re-launch" of sorts, but I don't understand why it is considered a "key." Minor, Semi, Mega or otherwise...
  13. I thought Ditko's letter was spot on, and not negative in the slightest. Refreshing, even, that someone is forthright and honest. Had Ditko written that letter as a post on this board, would some people have been offended, and reacted to him negatively...? Of that, I have no doubt. Of course, I agree with many aspects of his worldview.
  14. Hey, come down and use my land in exchange for the produce.
  15. Are those tomato seedlings? Yeah, the two rows he's standing in are Beefsteak tomatoes. The other cells are shade flowers. I need to get some peppers going. Do you have a greenhouse? No. I just start them inside. After they sprout I move them into the shade outside before they are transplanted. I'm doing container veggie gardens on the patio this year. I swear, two of those beefsteak tomato plants will feed the entire neighborhood. I have the space to build a greenhouse, plus the land to have a nice garden, but not the drive to get it done. Sigh.

  17. It's true. Yet who got the custom title? I guess everybody hates RMA. Also true. Someone stole my pedestal....
  18. It's true. Yet who got the custom title? My existential custom title is still super awesome. "You are. That is all."
  19. I'll try to sum up and move on Heres what we've learned Spider-Dan is a dishonest Boardie who's sales threads are run unfairly. He likes to leave himself an oou so he can maximize his profits. He also loves to remind people that he's involved in numerous charity threads, and that he sends comics to kids at Christmas time. He has his head so far up his arse he cant see his flaws even after repeated having them ponted out. He also ends up causing all sorts of drama. RMA has an excellent grasp of the English language and sadly looks down on those who don't. Not sure if it's a real disorder or not, but he cant stop telling others how to think and how to act. He does some buying and selling privately. He has a hard time looking at situations through other peoples eyes. His opinions are very strong and cannot be changed. I think that's it. I'm ready to let this die, but I have a feeling RMA or his friends will not let it. If you're really ready to let it die, let it die. Stop resurrecting it, and then complain that no one ELSE will "let it die." If you're going to take offense at things which aren't offensive, and aren't said to offend, that's your choice. But understand that it's your choice, you are choosing to be offended, which is a supreme waste of time. Choosing to believe that I "look down on anyone who doesn't have a strong grasp of English" and what I said was to shame, rather than help, is just another in a string of such choices, choices which have no bearing in reality. It's not true, but you believe...and speak it...nevertheless. I've chosen to be offended far too much in my life, and truly...it's a waste of time. Your choice, Dan. It's not about me, or your opinion of me. It never was.
  20. Wow, she can sing too. I was impressed enough with the guitar..... She's got a ton of songs. Nice voice. Yes Voice She's purty. She looks a lot better in her vids where she's not so made-up.
  21. I think you're reading into things a bit too much, here. Sometimes, things need to be hashed out. There's too much simmering under the surface around here, that never has a chance to be aired, even if never resolved, and that simmering inevitably manifests itself in other, destructive ways. If talking openly about these situations brings heat....it's ok, we're big boys, and we can take it...no? Better than to never have addressed it at all.
