  1. You know what they say about assuming... Yes, they are all first prints. Newsstand later printings have essentially been unheard of, with the exception of Superman #75. That was quite unprecedented. There's no reason to believe they have a "super low print run", other than the fact that it was a relatively new (but not the first!) format, with a higher cover price. DC didn't typically print "super low" numbers of books in the mid 80's. I suspect you haven't seen them because most sellers don't scan the back covers. You know what they say about people that suspect... No, what? Um...it's the exception to the rule that illustrated my point...? Other than that, nothing. I don't know what it is you think you're seeing.
  2. Wait'll you see what I'm getting tomorrow...

  4. Yes it was. There are no Newsstand copies of DKR That would be incorrect. That's a #2, but I have all four of them in newsstand in boxes somewhere.
  5. Some stay dry, while others feel the pain. Ugh. That is such a stupid song. It's nothing but a chorus, repeated over and over again. No verses, no bridge, nothing that makes a song appealing, and gives it depth and character. Ugh.
  6. I sold my A/P S&N for $400 about 4 years ago, to some doosh in Ireland who hammered my DSRs because I wouldn't declare the item a "gift." Damn it.

  8. Welcome to the jungle, we've got fun and games! We got everything you want, honey we got the names.
  9. I sold a complete Infinity Gauntlet/War/Crusade set for $50 last year.
  10. Does anybody remember the boardie that asked about what comics to get at the Family Dollar store a couple years back? He took a picture of the display and SS #44 was one of the books there. For a freaking $1. A couple years back? According to your sign up date you weren't around a couple years back. All the copies I've found were below $5. The 9.8 I sold was $2, I think. I bought my original copy for 90 cents...
  11. One of the two Universal 9.8s and the SS 9.8 are both copies I subbed. If you guys want a 9.8, there's the "Wizard Authentic Edition" (which has no business being in a blue slab, but whatevs) for $200 on eBay. It's not mine, and $200 for a 9.8 copy of this book is not bad at all, for a book that is not ever going to be easy to find (unless you have access to my boxes. ) Seriously, though, because it was so thin and cheap, the spine split. You all know to what I refer. White, white, white as far as the eye can see. The only reason I have 9.8s at all is because I bought most of Wizard's stock when they sold in 2007. I have probably 200 copies, and only about 10-15 of those were legit 9.8 quality, from which the two slabs came. PS. The SS copy is for sale...
  12. Purple Rain. That is my answer for everything.
  13. Hey it wasn't long ago that you were bemoaning the fact that no one cares about ASM 135 anymore compared to 129. ? That is another second appearance that people thought of as a minor key while the Punisher was hot. Relative to Spidey #129, the value of #135 peaked in 1990. That's when #135 was approximately 25% of #129. Since then, #135 has never come close, even in 9.8.
  14. X-O at #13...? I didn't know #9-12 were hot. Frankly, I'm surprised Unity hasn't seen more fire. It's not as if the books were printed in X-Men numbers, after all. And the set does represent a number of firsts.
  15. Sounds like a great list. I can never find the website though. This is a valid complaint. I found a comic shop on Saturday that was - to be blunt - clueless about the marketplace. I wanted to find Terry's site because there were piles of stuff everywhere. I could NOT GET IN to the site on a phone or a tablet. But I did OK anyways. I just take notes on my phone everytime I see a comic trending. I have one list for every comic age.. I can sell you my lists if you want You guys just need to be an oldschool dork like me and carry around a paper list in your wallet . Whenever I walk into a new comic shop, where I'm not known, I get looked at like I probably don't collect comics and know jack about them. Bust out the list and suddenly an employee usually asks if there's any specific books I'm after. Plus, watching my TOS checklist come to nearly nothing is a very rewarding feeling......only need #52 and a couple other relatively unimportant issues (then it'll be time to revise the heck out of my list). Or, you could just have an eidetic memory and keep it all in your head...
  16. It takes an interesting cat to let a worm barf all over him. Yeah, usually you have to pay extra for that. Uh, I mean..............I've said to much I'd like to know what that material was, and why it behaves like a crystalline formation in a super saturated solution. It slowly devoured him and now he's one of the worm people. Beware the worm people Good thing he's not from the Great Lakes region.
  17. This commercial has parts filmed on downtown Pleasanton, CA, which is the next town over from mine.
