  1. Great...now I'm craving Giordanos, thank you. It's only an eight hour drive Jim Don't worry…ended up making myself hungry, too. Old Chicago Pizza Yea no.... Chicago doesn't make pizza. They make Sauce Pie. It's gross. Please NEVER refer to that stuff as pizza. THIS is pizza Quoted for truth. You people are all BEGGING for someone to start complaint threads about being off-topic. (Yes, I'm poking fun at the OT police.) Totally on topic, we are going to buy pizza with the millions of monies we make from this coin from an avengers book paying dividends. Pay attention! Ohhhhhh... I see. Carry on!

  3. The Mods are pretty funny today. It would have been nice if they'd pulled it for the "thread started to bash another member" that it is, but that would be asking too much, I imagine. Maybe I'll bring it up over in the mod discussion area.
  4. That Sims guy...he really made some great Cerberus comics.
  5. Yes, the "platinum" version (which only has a DCU), as well as the regular DCU version. I don't know off the top of my head if the collectror's edition has one, but it might. Batman #515 also has DCU variants of both covers. It was so very nice of DC to make obscure subsets of books that no one paid attention to at the time, during the era of massive overproduction. It's nice to have something different to chase that isn't 70 years old, and therefore reasonably attainable.
  6. No matter what you say, this is not a cryptocurrency - it is an investment fund. You are soliciting investors. You are buying up assets with their money. You are issuing ownership interests in these assets (and plan to buy them back when it makes sense). You intend to pay dividends. You can say it's crypto all you want, but it is indistinguishable from an investment fund except that it's wrapped up in the guise of a cryptocurrency with a really low nominal price per unit. Paying dividends is not illegal. Paying dividends from an illegally organized investment fund, though, is. You can say it's not illegal, but one phone call to the SEC and you're finished. Not that it couldn't be made legal, but that would require you to form an LLC and an L.P., pay up for legal documents, restrict your buyers to qualified investors, etc. You'd probably also want/need a bunch of third-party service providers for legal/compliance/security reasons as well. Chang looks like he's in the middle of a vicious outbreak of the Herp.
  7. You are wasting your time arguing over semantics like whether 30 is "more than a handful." Stick to the facts, find out as much as you can, and retool. There may be an idea here, a gem in the dirt, if you are persistent. Right now, however, it's just a bunch of dirt. Entrepreneurship...
  8. Someday, I'll get around to publishing a few books on the history of the comic book artform, and then I can just refer to those, instead of directly answering challenges that are incorrect.
  9. These 3 packs are very common on E-Bay with one or more listed at any given time. They go for $10 - $15 usually, although I've snagged a few in the past few years for under $10. I'm guessing your 3 packs have the word REPRINT printed on the cover vertically below the diamond. What I've been trying to figure out is where do the $0.35 copies without the word REPRINT with the diamond and a blank UPC come from? I've bought several of these bags over the years and have never seen one without the word REPRINT for issues 1-3. On this page http://www.bipcomics.com/showcase/StarWars/Marvel/StarWars/001-006.html I'm referring to the first 3 issues on the last row. Also, I noticed on that page the $0.35 5 and 6 with diamond and blank UPC are not reprints, but I have 3 packs with those 2 copies and the $0.35 4 with diamond and blank UPC that is a reprint. So, they bundled a reprint with 2 non-reprints? They are DIRECT MARKET copies, with the blank UPCs being made for the 3-packs by special order from Whitman. If there is no "reprint" on the cover or at the indicia, it's not a reprint. And yes, in the confusion of the reprints, it was very possible that Whitman would have bundled reprints and non-reprints together. Whitman got pallets of books for months, so that they would have 2-3 issues of any given run to put in their packs. That's one of the reasons why everyone thought they were all reprints: they showed up months after the originals. But this was never the case. They simply sat on them until they could make whatever 3-packs they wanted to make, and then distributed them to K-Mart, Wal-Mart, etc. There wasn't a "direct market" back then, just a handful of comic shops that got their new releases the same day the newsstand got theirs. You are mistaken. The Direct Market has existed since 1974, at the latest. By 1977, the Direct Market had been around for multiple years, and Marvel had already devised a program by which they could separate the DM copies from the newsstand copies.
  10. This thread is off-topic. The off-topic police should be by soon to address it.
  11. I have some Alf pogs. Keep it on the DL, though, I'm being inducted into the HOS...
  12. Thats a crazy asking price. Kinda misleading too as his headline says "First Printing" - makes it appear that it is not a reprint - is there a 2nd printing? Kinda like saying Spectacular Spider Man 90 is fist appearance of alien costume but omitting "in title". That's actually an early Direct Market version, tougher to find than the newsstand copy. Many people have been under the mistaken impression that these books were reprints (due to Overstreet) for many years. Not $125 tough, but $10-$15 or so.
  13. It was in the low 30's in LA last week. Not bad, but horrific if you don't have a heating system in your house.
  14. I am confident in my ability to discern the subtle difference(s) between a 9.8 and a 9.9 That was such a strange, strange time. I mean, really, who did Marvel think were their audience, to be publishing beefcake drawings...?
  15. Recommendation: I would use "DC Bullet" to describe the ones you're calling DC Logo, which could be confusing.
