Good point.
Perhaps it's green if sig on cover and blue if sig on interior page?
That was what I was thinking but would be interested to know if others have similar experiences.
Also, all kidding aside, everyone is mum on the possibility of CBCS for verified signature. Is bringing up CBCS around here a no no? I've only done CGC in past but am considering a change for this already-existing signature....

Oh, and probably little to no deduction for the interior signature. That Grendel example I'd call a 9.2. I don't see it as a 9.4 with a -0.2 deduction for the interior artwork and signature in marker.
Thanks! Very interesting and good to know. Crying shame to have that awesome sketch and sig not visible!! But at least you've got the photo of it!

Oh....green label with notation " name written on first page "
THANK YOU! Thought I read on one of the boards that people had gotten blue labels with name on first page. Not so? Definitely green, you think?
And any thoughts on whether it's a great or terrible or other idea to send to the Grading-Company-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named for (hopefully) verified signature label?
Again, thanks!!!

FC is a 7.0/7.5 to me, but BC pulls it all the way down to a 6.0. But I think C/P on that one, especially if a lot of that dirt comes off the back, maybe even gets you a 7.0...
-
Would really appreciate your thoughts on grade and...a couple of strategy questions. Planning to C/P unless you all talk me out of it. On the interior first page is a small pen signature of the artist who did the interior pencils for the book. I *think* that means I could still get a blue label but might be docked for it on the grade? Was considering sending to (gasp!) CBCS instead so they could verify signature - would love anybody's thoughts on pros/cons of that too (or is mentioning them around here like mentioning Voldemort??). Thank you!!!

8.0 for me and I think C/P maybe even gets higher. But I recognize I'm the outlier thus far and these other folks are some of the best on this board so take it with a grain of salt...
-
Is there yellow/brownish yuckiness on the top right corner of the back cover or am I imagining that? That brings it down to 8.5 to me but agree that C/P ends up at 9.0 or maybe even 9.2. Cool book, thanks for sharing!

Perhaps based on @67Lovers's copy of this same book that we just saw the grade come back on we should go ahead and add 1.0-1.5 to all of our expected grades?!
(For what it's worth I was 100% with all of you at 7.5/8.0 on that one that then came back as a freaking 9.2?!?)

I have several comics with a similar crease. I went to the Ask CGC forum and got the above answer from a CGC rep. regarding the crease below. If I was a buyer looking on Ebay I'd be happy if you called that an 8.0 - 8.5 thinking you are not trying to oversell or overgrade.
Super helpful info - thanks @Joe Peck!!!

If that's a 9.4 then I'll do the @Galen130 special and say, "I quit!"
I'm at an 8.5. I want to get to a 9.0 but I can't do it unless you tell me that staple is a production error and I shouldn't be deducting anything for it. Even then I'm struggling with that bottom corner and a few other spots. I think post C/P a 9.0 is perfectly reasonable but nothing more.
Should you tell us who was trying to sell that as a 9.4 so we know never to buy from them?!

Sorry if I missed it in the description but I read it twice and it may just not be computing. What's the mark next to the banana?

First off remember the most important fact: ANY Hulk 181 is better than NO Hulk 181! But really that's a 5.0 for me. I have zero experience with books featuring white out on the cover but it's small enough (and happens to be on a white-ish section already which maybe shouldn't matter but does to me) that I'm not docking a huge amount for it. Congrats on a great book!

5.0. I want to get higher based on the FC but that BC is pretty rough. Such a cool book, thanks for sharing it!

Not enough experience with the chew vs. production situation to weigh in authoritatively...but if you hadn't prefaced about that corner I definitely would have docked for it. 7.5/8.0

It is out of the bag…🤣
I was about to make fun of myself too but even upon second look I couldn't tell for sure if it was in the bag or if it was outside but on top of something that looks bag-ish! LOL. But I love the poking-emoji @Galen130, hilarious!

3.5/4.0 for me

Confused. You cracked it once you got another copy of #1? Or once you got #2? Either way, killer books and absolutely love that sketch. I've got a Lobo sketch on the cover of an Omega Men 3 that yours reminds me of...so so cool, artist sketches on books are one of my absolutely favorites.
